In summary

The Town of Colonie Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, diverse 36-hole layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers in the Capital Region. Many appreciate the course's scenic setting and the modern amenities in the golf carts. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the pace of play, particularly during busy times, and noted that the bunkers could use more attention.

5 stars – A Golfer’s Paradise in Colonie! Had an absolute blast at the Town of Colonie Golf Course today – hands down one of the best public courses I’ve played in the Capital Region! The fairways were lush and rolling, greens rolled true and fast (just the right challenge without being punishing), and those tree-lined holes kept it scenic and strategic. We teed off right on time thanks to the efficient pro shop staff, who hooked us up with carts that were spotless and fully charged. Even on a busy Saturday, the pace of play was solid – no marathon waits on tees. Grabbed a quick burger at th…

Course was in tough shape for the last many years. Now, they are doing a lot of work on tees, fairways, sand traps (even). Seems that the new Republican supervisor is really doing a terrific job, finally. Looking forward to a markedly improved course in the next few years. Great job! Also, saw a review that complained about golfers bothering beginners for playing a 3.5 hour 9 holes.....that's outrageous. 9 should take 2 hours. Can't blame some for getting annoyed. Also, should rake traps toward the center of the trap, pushing sand away from you. Many folks seems to be dragging the sand to the…

Great course! Carts have speakers, Bluetooth, GPS, sports, weather!! We played 9 on (green) best course I've played in a while. I am an avid golfer and had a blast!!

Course is in decent shape but shouldn’t let you book tee times during leagues because they don’t give a shit about the non-league people. Starters are rude and they don’t care. Never going back here, rip off of a course for 66 dollars!!!

Unfriendly & arrogant - you'll only want to play this course if you're a good golfer. (not for beginners / novices) Not due to course difficulty; it's a nice course. However the regulars there have no patience for a slower group. Our foursome played 9 this morning, and we're beginners. We weren't screwing around or dragging our feet - we played as well and efficiently as we could. We also let several groups play through. Yet we still had guys driving at us while we're still within range. When we finished, the course starter had some sarcastic & snide comments about how long we took. (for refer…

Rangers are terrible your whole job is to keep the paste going we had 3 groups at the same hole ranger said they’re playing fine. Basically what I’m saying is if your trying to play 18 holes in 8 hours this is your place if your trying to play 18 in 4 hours go somewhere else

Nice course. Fairways and greens were in great condition. Bunkers are a no-go as there is not much sand in them.

Nice enough, but a bit pricey if you don't reside in Colonie. The fairways are in decent shape as are the greens. Our foursome did have the group behind us hit up on us once which wasn't cool. But it could be a result of the season running out and lack of staff. There are lots of nice courses in the area for a little less cost. I probably won't choose this course over others in the area in the future.

Just stopped at a bucket of balls. It was very nice. Only thing I didn't like was they had no yardage markers on the driving range

Place is dogwater, horrid pace of play. Bunch of useless old folks sitting around doing nothing to enforce a respectable pace of play while it takes 3+ hours to play 9 holes. The staff all need to be fired if they’re incapable of enforcing a pace of play. I get they’re old but it’s time to retire and find somebody who can drive a golf cart and ask people to pick their ball up or get a move on. Disgraceful look for the town of colonie.

Love the layouts of all 4 9's! This course has so much potential but unfortunately the town does not put much effort into maintaining it. If your ball lands in a bunker do yourself a favor and take a free drop or be prepared to damage a club.
