In summary

Schenectady Municipal Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, unique and thoughtful layout, and friendly staff, with many appreciating the improvements made over recent years. The course is noted for its affordability and the pleasant atmosphere of its new restaurant. However, some visitors have experienced issues with slow pace of play and occasional problems with carts, which can detract from the overall experience.

There is just something about this course. It has a soul. Maybe it’s because it was built during the depression and they opted to build it by hand instead of using machinery. Maybe because everyone respects it, repairs their ball marks and keeps it clean. Or maybe because it is relatively inexpensive so the people who play here are generally down to earth. Who knows, but it definitely is a special place. Obviously, the course is a work of art. Each hole is unique and offers a fair opportunity for a par if you hit average shots, but they also offer a big hitter the chance to take a risk and go…

Not much to complain about here. Nicest carts I’ve ridden in, friendly staff, course is in great shape. Nice to see the city taking care of - and putting money back into - the property. Edit: spelling

Beautifully maintained and fun course weighed down heavily by 9 minute starts and no rangersI have seen to help pace of play. Expect to waste 30 minutes to an hour waiting to tee off added up across the day, as a single group will delay countless others.

HILLY... But I really enjoyed it and wonder why I didn't go sooner as I've lived in the area for decades. I will be back.

Nice grounds. Hubby plays all different locations and says they keep greens looking great. Restaurant/bar with deck. Food is just alright but they are nice

For being a cheap little muni, this place is really nice. Greens roll true, but very slow, they’ll catch you off guard how slow they are. Greens are firm, and fairway and rough looks very nice. Very nice, I like it! Glad I visited

I was there for a new restaurant opening. Great food and great people running it. One of the cooks is my son-in-law check it out. Mother's day is coming. It's called The parlor. At the Schenectady municipal golf course. Not what you think down to earth place for anybody. Has a bar you can sit back and relax or have a drink at the bar

I’ve been to this golf course before. I enjoyed it. I decided to come again. We had a tee time and arrived a couple minutes early. We get out to a cart and starter was no where to be found. Wasn’t until about 10 minutes later he was found. We were told we were going to lose time on playing because we were late when we were not. No big deal though. We get to tee off. Don’t even finish the first hole. Starter comes down and asks us to leave. His reasons were because we were not allowed to split a bag( friend forgot his). Which is understandable. 2nd reason is because they don’t like to have beg…

Cart died on us twice due to being off the cart path, both times we were on the cart path. They then tried to gaslight us into thinking we don’t know how to stay on a cart path or put a cart in reverse. Multiple groups tried to help us while we waited for workers, they all had the same issue. Love the new reasturant tho they were all very sweet and efficient in there.
