In summary

Pinehaven Country Club is widely praised for its meticulously maintained and challenging golf course, set in a scenic location adjacent to the Albany Pine Bush. Members and visitors appreciate the friendly and welcoming community, professional staff, and the club's range of amenities, including a driving range and dining options. Some criticisms include outdated locker room facilities and inconsistent restaurant service, but overall, the club offers a positive experience for golfers of all levels.

I joined Pinehaven in 1987 and have relished the golfing experience at the club ever since. The membership is extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff is highly professional and most accommodating. The course is a wonderful and challenging layout winding its way through the lands adjacent to the Albany Pine Bush and is set up to allow all levels of golfers to enjoy themselves. Pinehaven opens early in April and is rarely wet. The cost of membership is very reasonable and well worth the investment for a long season.

If your are looking for for a meticulously maintained and challenging golf course there is no better place than Pinehaven. We have been members for the past 9 years and particularly enjoy the people. They make the total experience a true pleasure.

We joined as a couple when we were newlyweds and have been there for 25+ years. Our kids learned to swim and to play golf at the Club. Both of our kids played competitive High School golf as a result of growing up with the game. Given the sandy soil in the Pine Bush, the course is extremely durable. If we have a few days in a row of rain, the course is playable the next day. Besides the beautiful facilities, the members are the reason we've never looked to go to any other club. There is no snootiness to be found at Pinehaven. It is easy to make friends there.

Golf at Pinehaven is superb! 18 holes are on a sand base that allows for play even after heavy rain. Rob Bigley has years of experience and is dedicated to elevating the golf course to its highest potential. Season after season he and his crew continue to care for the beautiful and challenging track. The Pinehaven members are friendly and welcoming and the course is beautiful.

I joined Pinehaven almost 15 years ago. The golf course conditions have been spectacular in each of those years. There is no better place to play! There are many opportunities to meet new friends and find games. The members are hard working people who love golf. Can’t say enough positive thinks about Pinehaven!

The College of Saint Rose Departments of Athletics hosted our golf outing at Pinehaven and it was a tremendous experience. Scott and the staff at Pinehaven ran a first-class event and treated our guests with a wonderful experience. They took care of all of the little details to make the event a success. I would highly recommend anyone looking to host an outing to strongly consider holding it at Pinehaven Country Club!

I joined Pinehaven in June 2020 and had a wonderful time playing last season. I joined the Tuesday afternoon ladies league and ALL of the ladies I played with were friendly, accepting of a new player who wasn’t very good, and fun to play with. After playing in the league, we stayed for dinner (socially distanced) and this provided more opportunities to get to know the ladies and arrange to play with them on the weekends. If you’re looking for a golf club to join, I highly recommend Pinehaven.

Pinehaven is a great course with a premium on accuracy and is always in great shape! More importantly, the membership is a great group. Some of my best friends and greatest memories have come from there. New members are always welcome and are quickly brought into the mix, especially if they join one of the league’s. Thursday night Sundowners is always a great time, but plan on sticking around for “rehydration” and great food after the round!

Pinehaven was one of my favorite places to play, even before I joined in 2011. Now, I consider it my second home 8 months of the year. It's a challenging but fair layout and I always get my round completed in under 4 hours. I often feel like I'm communing with nature being adjacent to the Pine Bush Preserve. I frequently see Red Tail Hawks, Deer, Turkey, and even Baltimore Orioles!!

Fantastic walkable golf course. Shorter than some but smallish greens and tight fairways. My handicap travels well. Cool horseshoe bar. Great for league postmortems. Chef Marla always has interesting menus. Price is right. A bit less than some clubs, a lot less than others. Had to leave public golf. Don’t regret it for a minute.

3.5 ⭐️ Grounds are well manicured and maintained. As most country clubs, the locker rooms are old but this one, while clean, is significantly outdated with extremely tacky decor. The men's locker room is a slight step above with a poker and pool table and heaters but still drab. Neither have the typical accoutrement. The people are very cliquey; very few are openly friendly or open to accepting. The pool area chairs and tables are also outdated with only a few tables with umbrellas. There are no umbrellas for loungers. Music is rarely on in the pool area although there are outdoor speakers. Th…
