What People Say

In summary

Kearney Hills Golf Links is widely praised for its challenging and well-maintained course, featuring a mix of open fairways and strategic layouts that appeal to golfers of all skill levels. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and accommodating nature, contributing to an overall positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the height of the rough and occasional maintenance concerns, such as aerated greens and bunker conditions. Additionally, the proximity to highway noise can be a distraction for those seeking a quieter golfing environment.

Great course but watch your ball closely if you're like me and spend some time off the fairway. Lots of rain this year has the rough in ball eating mode. Greens were slowish but ran nice.

This was added as part of my golf trip and I knew nothing about it. The conditions of most of the course was about 4 stars but my experience was 5. Everyone was very nice and helpful, I went out as a single and most groups in front of me were very nice about letting me play through, which was a great surprise. The course was pretty wet but the greens were super responsive and rolled perfect. If I lived here I'd play here all the time. One interesting thing is they don't do tee colors instead numbers.

The greatest course I've ever played. had fun the 3 times I played. left my wedge and my coffee mug and it was kept safe till I returned. great staff. I'm bad at names but the whole staff was extra friendly from the guy picking us up in the cart to the bartender in the grill upstairs. I will be a regular traveling return customer from Texas.

Course is in very good shape, for a city owned course. Bar and grille needs quite the renovation. Excellent terrace to overlook the property. Ran into some wet conditions from the previous days rains. Cart path only which is understandable. Some links feel, but not the entire course, seems the word "links" is thrown around way too often for golf courses.

One the best courses in Lexington and the state. Played the course 1st weekend in November and starter mentioned they’ve had 32k rounds. Course was in good shape for fall golf after the rough spring and summer. Saturday morning rate was $56 with a cart. No GPS on the carts. Staff were great to talk to.

The course looked very nice at the beginning and I was very excited to play, soon to find out that the rough was a solid 4 inches long and coming from a maintenance worker at a golf course we keep ours at 2 inches and that is already pretty long. Clubhouse told us after we paid that the greens were aerated and every single one had a mass amount of sand on it and the ball could barley roll, also tons of cores on the greens leaving a uneven surface to putt on, I hate to be that guy but it was brutal

This course is pure class. And I don’t throw that term around often. But it’s a word that was used heavy and often during our outing. We drove 9 hours to get here. Worth every second. Huge bunkers. Huge fairways. Very hard and sneaky greens. Wide open from most tees for a grip and rip scenario. Just a class experience from tee to green. Pete Dye vibes top to bottom. Far more hills and valleys than most pictures would lead you to believe.

Fantastic layout I really enjoyed the link style course. Although constant highway noise on every hole, from trucks, cars, and motorcycles is very bothersome. A long train even came by on the railroad when I was putting! This could be a personal preference but I like to relax when I play golf. Not be interupted by a trucker's horn on my downswing. Otherwise the facility is very nice. Staff, groundskeepers, and players are friendly folks.

I’ve always been a big fan of this course. Weather was not cooperating while we were there, but we were still able to get a round and a half in. The course is in great shape, with a fun and challenging layout.

Talk about an incredible value. This course is wonderful and difficult in a great way. It's really well manicured the greens are in wonderful condition and the staff is excellent. You are not going to like being in the rough though. It is beautifully thick.

Played in a two-man scramble on a cold wet day and this course was still great! It is easily one of the best courses in the area. It is a fair and challenging set-up that will test golfers of all skill levels. You can’t go wrong playing a Pete Dye course. Current head pro, Chris, is great and always puts on great events!

Links style course. Huge greens with lots of undulations. Some holes are forgiving, some are not. I plan to play it again.
