In summary

The University Club of Kentucky offers two courses, Big Blue and Wildcat, both praised for their beautiful layouts and challenging play, with Big Blue often noted as being in better condition. Many visitors appreciate the natural setting and well-maintained facilities, along with friendly staff interactions. However, some golfers express concerns about the condition of the Wildcat course, particularly during renovations, and mention issues with pace of play and dynamic pricing.

We played wildcat. It was ok.. the construction kinda takes the competivness out of the course. Play it for fun. It's almost worth the money. Some of the course is perfect and the layout is so cool that if someone wanted to make this course great... it could be. Take it or leave it.

Second time playing University Club, last year was the Big Blue course and this year was the Wildcat Course. Both courses offer great playing experiences with the Big Blue being the better of the 2. Wildcat was going through some renovations this year so the first handful of holes weren’t the condition the typically are but the course as a whole was a fun to play. Highly recommend checking out the University Club!

Played the Wildcat course today (11/14/25) . Gotta say our group was disappointed with the condition of the course. Maintenance at this facility seems to be focused on the Big Blue course leaving Wildcat very neglected. The fairways were decent considering the bermuda grass had already gone dormant for winter. Areas around the green needed mowing very badly. Roughs were very inconsistent, some really high and thick others pretty "clumpy" with bare spots. The bunkers were unplayable. Greens were also inconsistent in terms of the speed but were in pretty good shape overall. This course could be…

We have been playing here for years. Always a good experience. Yesterday was absolutely awful. Our cart locked up 3-4 times with the GPS system and would not unlock (total time probably 30-40 minutes of just sitting in the cart). Even happened once on the cart path by the literal teebox. Then an employee came out from the clubhouse to tell us that management had a pace of play complaint for us….a twosome…playing behind a group….still in two hours with sitting in the cart for a least 30 minutes. I’ve literally never written a review on anything that should tell you how annoying this was

I played both courses and found both to be fun but also challenging. Be careful of the back nine on the Wildcat course as you have three holes that you will get massively attacked by mosquito's. There were thousands of them. Overall a pair of great courses that will be fun for all skill levels.

Absolutely beautiful course. A nice balance of fun yet challenging holes. Wish the practice greens had more of some short grass to practice chipping. Fall rates are extremely reasonable.

Played Big Blue for the first time yesterday. Overall, the course was in decent shape considering the tough weather this summer. Teeing areas needed some TLC but the greens were nice and rolled pretty true. Pace of play was excellent for a Saturday. Teed off around 9 and only had a couple times to experience a short wait. Big problem with not having water anywhere on the course. 90 degree day and no water and no drink cart the whole round. Not only poor customer service but also dangerous. Would play again but only if we're allowed to bring our own coolers with water and Gatorade if they won't…

I really like the layout of the Big Blue course. It is in fair condition. If you plan on playing this course I would suggest that you carve out a minimum of 5 hours to get through 18 holes. This is a very busy course and the price is high in my opinion. Supporting UK athletics one round at a time...

Played the Wildcat course this weekend for $67. Course has now implemented "Dynamic Pricing". Times with cost adjusted in live-time based on how many people are searching for a tee time (both higher and lower). So, be prepared to pay the highest possible rate at any given time. Tee times in 10 minute increments results in a slowdown of play towards the middle of the back nine when the harder holes start to appear. Total of two temporary holes. #2 had a temporary green in the fairway with a footgolf hole rather than a golf hole and #5 converted from a par 4 to a par 3. Significant amount crabg…

Not the condition I was expecting for the $67 fee. Played the Wildcat today. Front nine is in poor shape. Hole 2 green had not been mowed and was impossible to put on. Staff could have let us know that little detail. Cart paths are horrible on the front. Back nine played a bit better but still did not measure up to fee charged. Will not be returning any time soon. Dissatisfied

Course and facilities are always well kept. Wildcat course is very fun to play, although most traffic ventures towards Big Blue. Our foursome was out last weekend and we had a blast! Would play it even more if we lived closer.

First time out. Played the Wildcat course. I believe the easier of the 2 18 hole courses. Nice course. Rough is brutal. Little rough around the edges but hoping to make it my new home course.
