The course has seen improvements in its greens and fairways, although some tee boxes remain in need of attention. This course is in BAD shape, but they’re still charging $40 a round. Every tee box, fairway and green is destroyed. The gentleman at the counter lies by warning you they’ve “been hit by the drought” but we’re not in a drought and none of the courses in the area look like this. Remember, they warn you before you play, not before you pay. Not worth the price to play in such terrible conditions. Only bright side is the pace was quick because nobody was here to play.

It's a little dry but wasn't bad to play. Greens were in decent shape. Some had fungus and repairs. The lack of rain has been rough on most courses. Eagle Creek is in much better shape with 2 challenging 18 hole courses.

This is a fun, challenging course and the green fees are reasonable. It's got a challenge on every hole and water is everywhere. Some of the tee positions can be diabolical.

Winding Ridge is the best Course Hands down for the money in Indianapolis! It’s not a Prairie View or Purgatory but it’s a great course to bring your family and enjoy some golf! East Side of Indy in Lawrence! Yes they did have a tough summer …LAST SUMMER and lost some parts of the greens…however in one year it is amazing how they have rebounded the greens!

The course itself is such a fun layout but wow is it in TERRIBLE shape. Greens are completely taken over by fungus, tee boxes are the same and the majority of the fairway is just dead grass. It's a shame because the layout truly makes it a fun course to play . Update 7/28/24. I went back to the course to see if things have improved since the last time I played here. I'm very happy to say that the greens are almost all back to full normal. The tee boxes were still a bit beat but overall its night/day difference now to when this original review was written. I love this course layout and am glad…

I played this course for the 1st time a couple of years ago. To say it was in bad condition would be an understatement. I played again this weekend. Wow! What a difference from 2 years ago!! Tee boxes could still use some attention, greens are a bit slow, but overall it was 100% better. Friendly staff, as well. I'll definitely be back!

No hassle when on course play with no one behind you hurrying you along! Course is manicured and greens are so nice!

WOW exceeded my expectations for the green fee prices!! I played this course over the last 10 years probably 1-3x a year. The fairways used to be sponge and greens were terrible! Talk about TRANSFORMATION Wow! FAIRWAYS ARE AWESOME ...greens a little slow but true! John and Karen Scott left Iron Wood ( which is quickly going down hill) to join Dave Scott John’s Brother and this trifecta knows how to run a course! I left my River Glenn Humpday League to join the Tuesday night league at WR and we love it! I hope they have a Saturday Men’s 18hole league next year!! You will not be disappointed and…

Had a great Sunday playing golf. Was my first time there, long travel for us, over an hour. Course is fun and challenging. Will definitely go back

Went in to pay for 18 @ 3. Starter said there was weather coming, how about you guys do 9 holes and then you can just pay the difference if you want to continue. Weather did delay us a good bit. Finished front 9 at 6:25 and were refused playing the back nine. Sun doesn’t set until 9. Very very odd experience at a golf course. Tees were hit or miss on being chewed up. Some greens were ok, others had spots of ground under repair.

Played on 7/20/25 Solid layout, staff was fine, pace of play good (3 hr 20 minute round on a Sunday afternoon). Some minor amounts of crabgrass in fairways and a couple dead patches on greens. One teebox needs some help as well. But mostly in good shape, would come back again, not a bad value.

I was a member for 3 years because the members price was so reasonable. My compliments to the designer. I found myself dreading going into the clubhouse due to the rude and disrespectful owner/manager. I still have 6 months of prepaid golf but I will never return.
