In summary

Sahm Golf Course receives praise for its well-maintained greens and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice for casual rounds. The course layout is forgiving and suitable for golfers of various skill levels, with a decent practice range and friendly staff. However, some visitors express concerns about slow pace of play, strict rules, and occasionally unfriendly service.

Me and Sahm have a love-hate relationship. Love the course. They maintain it decently too, but they could cut the rough a little more for my taste. The greens are hard, but they roll pretty well. My main beef though is no water on the course AND no ball washers. I don't care if it's cheap or not, you could at least provide the basics. Having no water on the course when it's 85+ out is darn near criminal. It would be nice if they had a pro, or at least a professional manager. The service and attitude here is very mid.

Course ok. Pace was very slow. 4some in front had 2 empty holes ahead of them. Talk to kid in proshop at the turn about it and got an" I'll check". He never left his chair. Same kid when we paid, no personality, no thank you. Never looked up. Devoid of interest in customers. Tall. Thin maybe around 30 with dark hair and some face hair. I arrived 45 minutes early and he told me 2 of our group already checked in and had the carts. So I walk back to parking lot looking for them. Called them and they weren't at the course yet! Walked all the way back to proshop and told him. His response? Not a wo…

We love you Sahms. But if you’re going to be strict and mean and get an attitude about 4 golfers max, turning in carts by 7:30, etiquette on the course, outside drinks, no more practice green at certain times, then be strict with YOURSELVES about upholding pace of play. It’s been an absolute joke and you guys have no problem coming up to groups complaining about a bunch of things “holding them accountable”, but then don’t ask people to speed it up. Freaking brutal last 3 times we’ve played here.

Played Dec 23, 2025. Course was in decent shape considering the weather for the month prior. Low areas were wet but most of course was not. Greens are in excellent shape.

You get what you pay for, here. I’d give it three stars, but why on earth don’t they pair people up? Everytime I go there as a single, they have me behind three twosomes instead of combining the groups. Doesn’t make any sense.

The worst course on the Northside of Indy, probably worst course in Indy. Besides the course being terrible, the staff isn’t friendly, the parking is bad, and they have only strict rules. Go anywhere else.

Decent course condition for the price. Greens are overall good and roll well. Plays short with plenty of tree trouble, but not very punishing. Definitely recommend.

Went for a couple hours at the driving range with my boyfriend for the first time. The lady working in the shop was so sweet (I think her name might have been Penny?). Everything went nice and smooth and we had an amazing time!

Course was great for the price. The workers are very rude. Especially the lady who is usually on the intercom. Rushing us to get out and finish our game when we took a pit stop at the clubhouse to get some drinks. We were not hanging around just waiting to buy and support them but that lady is rude.

Everyone knows that this is the municipal of Indianapolis, among the most beat up courses we’ve got. Interestingly, despite being the least-prestigious course, they have some of the strictest rules. They don’t allow me to walk the course with my kiddo in a stroller, every other course I’ve played in Indianapolis will allow it. Sahm is nothing special, and they shouldn’t act like they are either

Rudest staff I have ever encountered at a golf course. Also very poorly maintained, especially the front 9. Take your money somewhere else.

It's a very played course. It's not a top notch place but it is very good for the cost. The staff is friendly the range is large and has grass and turf. You can miss the fairway and still have a shot and not lose your ball. It's a good place to play. It always seems to be somewhat busy.
