In summary

Tates Creek Golf Course receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating its convenient location, affordability, and friendly staff, particularly highlighting the helpfulness of certain employees. The course is noted for being a good option for casual play, with a decent layout and some well-maintained greens. However, frequent criticisms include poor course maintenance, such as damaged greens and fairways, inconsistent cart fee policies, and issues with pace of play and tee time management, which detract from the overall experience for many golfers.

Course was pretty good. Greens are a little small with nothing spectacular. Staff was more about relaxing than their job. I'm from out of town and wanted to buy a ball with a logo. He didn't know how to ring it up. So I got no ball and they got no extra money from me.

You are better off hitting balls in your back yard and putting on the beach than spending $30 for just 9 holes at Tates Creek on a Wednesday. Absolutely ridiculous that they charge this much without any warning of course conditions… they won’t see my business again.

This course should be closed. The greens look like a chemical experiment gone bad. The fairways are weeds and dirt. Any money spent by Fayette County on this course is wasted. Sell it to developers and build some affordable housing. Use the $$ to improve other courses. This one needs to be put out of its misery.

Great municipal course, and honestly some of the best staff I've seen at a golf course. An employee named Ben was more than helpful, he was flexible with our groups accommodations and went above and beyond as far as service goes. 5 stars, they deserve every bit of it.

If you wanna pay an absurd amount of money and play on greens that look like overly used sponges come here! Each individual has to pay a separate cart fee even if you share a cart. Be careful of potholes in the cart paths as well. I’m not sure how you can charge so much and provide such a terrible experience. There are plenty of other courses around of significantly better quality for a lower price.

The marshal came up to my group was rude to us saying how slow we were playing even though we were on pace. (Hole 11 in 2 hours) VERY RUDE STAFF!!!! After bringing our complaint to another employee, he brushed us off and did nothing to help.

I went to the pool. Looks good for younger children. There isn't a deep end but you can do laps and layout. 4ft is deepest,no diving board.

We played there this week.. Lots of mud patches on course , even after our 90° plus for 2 week. The greens are in terrible shape , dead grass ( non grass )and looked like they had been aeratied.... Off my list for the rest of this year.....

Wel-lmanicured public course. Not a long course but plenty of chances to get in trouble. Only one water hole, a par-3. The biggest negative aspect is the the sand traps or not playable because they are not sand-filled.

Excellent course! The staff was extremely nice. Dispute having their computer systems down tee times we’re still on time. The greens were in great shape. Beers were cheap, and it was a beautiful day!

Decent course, greens in fair shape. Fairways need a little more upkeep. Very congested course. Would be waiting for upwards of one or two groups per hole as people seem to hop on holes at random. Course has great potential, but for the condition, speed of play and price point, it's hard to come back at this time. If you haven't played Tates Creek and are looking for some variety, give Tates Creek a go but would recommend coming in early on a weekday.
