What People Say

In summary

Pine Hills Country Club is highly regarded for its well-maintained course, featuring a challenging yet fair layout and excellent practice facilities. The staff receives consistent praise for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the course is generally seen as a great value, some visitors find it a bit pricey, particularly noting the lack of discounts for seniors and military personnel.

Pine Hills sets a high bar for public golf. Grass range, multiple short game practice areas and an awesome layout with great conditions. You can tell the staff takes pride in running a great course. Excluding Bethpage Black, it’s one of the best public courses on Long Island. You’ve got other courses charging the same prices (if not more) for 10x worse conditions and layout. It’s 45 minutes away from me and still feel its worth the drive and adding to my regular rotation. JC’s Restaurant and Bar is also a great 19th hole!

Course in fantastic shape. Fairways have excellent grass. Greens large and fast downhill. Bunkers redone with some of the best sand I've seen. Staff friendly and accommodating to larger groups. A must play.

The Black Friday Toys for Tots outing at Pine Hills was fantastic. The staff was organized, welcoming, and clearly committed to making the event run smoothly. The course was in great shape for late November—beautiful fairways, true greens, and a fun layout for all skill levels. It was the perfect mix of good golf, good people, and a great cause. A really well-run event, and I’m already looking forward to next year. Highly recommended!

Long Islands hidden gem. Pine hills is a beautiful course with a lot of challenging and scenic holes. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and inviting. They also have a big driving range, chipping area and practice green. I will definitely be going back here. 10/10

A Perfect Day at Pine Hills Golf & Country Club I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Pine Hills Golf & Country Club during our Liberty Cup event on October 12th. The staff, especially Justin and Conner in the Pro Shop, were incredibly helpful and enthusiastic about the event. The starter, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, was a standout. He was super helpful, funny, and even went the extra mile to get ice for us as we were teeing off. The food and service after the round at JC's were top-notch. It was the perfect way to end a memorable day. Overall, this was one of the best g…

Pine Hills is hands down one of the best public golf courses on Long Island. The layout is challenging but fair, with wide fairways in some spots and tighter holes that really test your accuracy. The course is always in excellent shape—the greens roll true, the fairways are well maintained, and you can tell the grounds crew takes a lot of pride in keeping everything top-notch. The staff makes the experience even better. Everyone from the pro shop to the starter to the cart team is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The practice facilities are excellent too, with a great range, short game area,…

I played the Black Friday outing today. We had a great experience and had a blast. The course was in great shape and what a good job they did for toys for tots. We will definitely be back next year

Other than the Black, the best daily-fee course on Long Island. And I've played them all over the last 45 years. They have made many recent improvements, specifically cutting down trees and adding native grasses. Greens are always fast and firm. And with tee times spaced 12 minutes apart (when most of their competitors go with 8), the round is brisk and relaxed at the same time, if that makes any sense.

Always an organized and well run event, we’ll make it back again next year for Black Friday for sure! Everyone in the pro shop is so friendly and welcoming and the course is very well kept, it’s always a pleasure to play there.

5 stars isn't a high enough mark for Pine Hills. Course gets better and better every year. Course condition is fantastic. Love the renovations that have been done. Practice facility is top notch. There not a single bad thing that can be said about the staff here. Best public course in Suffolk County hands down. 10/10 for Pine Hills
