What People Say

In summary

Peninsula Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained 9-hole course, reasonable pricing, and enjoyable layout, making it a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned players. However, there are frequent complaints about the staff's strict enforcement of rules, particularly concerning the ranger's behavior, which some find overly harsh and intrusive. Additionally, the pace of play can be slow at times, leading to occasional delays on the course.

Nice course good staff except for the bald ranger with the birthmark breathing down our back 5 out of the 9 holes and also accused us of having the wrong tee time then not apologizing after rudely yelling at us, and interrupting our hole. The next time I come to this course will be when this guy retires everything else was great especially the rest of the staff!

The starter and members in the pro shop are absolute CLOWNS. I went to play 9 holes on a random Tuesday morning, playing by myself in a single group, it’s 8AM, I bring my 4 year old daughter that likes golf. She was tagging along in the cart with me. As I’m about to tee off on 1st hole, The starter comes running out telling me I need to pay FULL price on my 4 year old. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, low moral individual, and a total loser.

Course is regulation length and reasonably well maintained and good for 9 holes. Yes, staff can be a bit strict or surly but given that many beginners/novices play here they feel the need to enforce etiquette and pace of play. Their bark is worse than their bite

Great public 9 hole course that's well maintained, enjoyable and inexpensive. Decently long for a 9 hole course located in Nassau County with 2 par 5's, 1 par 3 and the rest par 4's. Frequently gets backed up with slow play depending on timing.

Course in good condition but pace of play has been terrible each of the three times I played here. Fairways are also so close to each other so if you’re not consistently driving straight you end up on a neighboring fairway while another group is trying to tee off, which I guess plays into the slow pace of play. Overall though it is a good bang for your buck.

Nice course, $52 for 2 players (9 holes) $24 golf cart rental for 2. Friendly staff, 2 1/2 hours to finish, delays due to backup, slow play. Highly recommend, fun time.

One of the best kept golf secrets on Long Island. Love this hidden gem of a golf course. The staff is great and accommodating. Greens in excellent condition. Love coming here!!!

The restaurant or the deli or whatever it is... has rude staff. Ruins the golf course vibe !! They lost my business, but I will go to the golf course still! Great course.

Won’t return. I called up stating I would be late, asked for a later tee time and was told they’re fully booked (check online to find plenty of later tee times available to book). At the very first tee box, I was giving pointers to my “new to golf friend” and was confronted by the ranger stating it was “against course policy to give lessons” after telling him I was helping out my friend since she’s new, he got rude and proceeded to tell me that she needed to “hit the ball and move on” and that “the staff have to stay here until the last people leave” and we should be mindful of that. Mind you,…

Nice little 9 hole course in the back streets of South massapequa. Course is well maintained, and you can usually get a tee time without an issue. Definitely recommend if you're looking to shoot a quick 9.

The Ranger here is a bit of a stickler, was literally chasing my friend and I around because she was new and wanted to try swinging the club a bit while waiting to tee off. The course itself is fine, and the clubhouse staff were super nice but the ranger needs to learn that he's in the service industry.

I should have read all these reviews about the ranger. He was very rude since the time we checked in. Please don’t get bothered to play here unless you want to deal with some grumpy stuffs.
