Merrick Road Park Golf Course

The course is great shape they clearly understand how maintain a course Played many times -challenging greens nice fairways always clean probably best kept 9hole public course around…… only drawback I see is tee boxes are sloped way too much- don’t see that most courses- I guess slightly for drainage necessary but currently way too much slope The crew is great and on top all aspects of maintenance and it shows maybe they can address tee boxes in coming seasons

Years ago I played it but it was very unkept, so I went back about 8 years ago and it was terrific in every way so I've been going there regularly since. The staff is very nice and helpful. I found if you call the office with a complaint they take care of it immediately. I love it there and play it at least once a week!!!

My issue along with everyone else that is a Town of Hempstead Resident is the lack of Golf Carts. For a 9 hole course you need to have a minimum of 18 carts - do the math! And that's not counting if one breaks down or one for the person that should be driving the course managing the time of each group. We pay enough taxes so enough with the silly phrase of 1st come 1st serve. GET MORE CARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s a Cheep and fun 9 hole course, nothing to special but it’s a great way to get on the course with out spending a day or a load of cash. All the employees I’ve dealt with have been nice and usually quite friendly. Although the course can get trashed at times with the usual broken tees there’s also a recent problem of littered bottle caps which is really on those who play the course. Yeah the pace of play is slow the staff do what they can to keep from having large pileups at tee box’s and groups taking unnecessary time.

First time at this course. Came for lessons. Staff is very friendly. While the course is only 9 holes it's well maintained and beautiful.

Got charged $38 by mistake by this old man. The course is decent but play is very slow.

TOH GEM!! Fantastic 9 hole experience with water views and well maintained fairways and greens. Easy online booking.

Had a 10:20 tee off, but delayed opening until 11because of frost. Our threesome waited and were second on line when the window opened. Some gentleman with a raspy voice who I assume was management advised me of a rule that I had never heard of and definitely was not in place the week before when something similar occurred.He proceeded to call people who had a tee time after 11 and after a few groups who showed up 40-50 minutes after us were allowed to get out, I went over to him. When I questioned what was happening the mgmt. person said that anyone who had a tee time prior to the delayed ope…

Best of the 5 courses that I play. In much better shape this season than Eisenhower.

Played here yesterday . Last time I played it was 25 years ago and it was just a cow pasture . Was pleasantly surprised as the course conditions were so much better now . Beautiful fairways and greens were much faster than back then and had a lot of slopes which made them pretty tough to putt. The rough wasn’t very deep but it was very lush . One thing I did notice was the fairways were ample width but were really pinched in very narrow in the landing area of your drives

Cheap and nothing special. Fun track to play and usually fast rounds. When you don't feel like playing 18 this course is perfect. Bring the pushcart and some waters.
