In summary

Lido Golf Course offers scenic views and a challenging layout, particularly around its signature water holes, which some players appreciate. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with the greens, bunkers, and overall condition, as well as the presence of geese and their droppings. The lack of amenities, such as food and drink options, is also frequently mentioned, impacting the overall experience for some golfers.

Played yesterday. This course has gone downhill the last couple of years. The greens were very bumpy. I’ve played temporary greens that were better. On one hole they didn’t even fill in the hole from the day before. This course used to be a bargain and now don’t waste your money.

One of the GEMS of the south shore golf courses. Love this course every time I play it. Please bring your big boy pants. It’s a long course with a lot of water. The views are to die for. Top 5 for views. Course is in pretty good shape!

Played for the first time in about 23 years. It's a shame what this course has become and echo the recent poor reviews. Really bad shape - no fairways, really bad bunkers, geese and their waste everywhere. I had to clear about 5 turds from my line prior to putting on one of the par 3s. It has potential. Given it's on the water, having a few really "different" holes (e.g. par 5 16th) and being on the water, it could be a good links course comparable with Middle Bay if received reasonable care. Hopefully, someone takes this off the hands for TOH and does a reasonable job with it. I'd be willing…

Course has seen better days, overpriced as well. Also rude staff wouldn’t accept range balls back and be courteous/show some sympathy after a few swings that led to an injury. Buckets are always filled with sliced golf balls that you can’t hit, “no refunds” is all they say. Better off going elsewhere.

Played this track yesterday, 02/09/2025. I had a lot of fun playing this challenging Robert Trent Jones-designed course despite the numerous issues that were previously raised by other golfers. Before I go into the significant issues, let me point out what I liked about this track. First off, the views of the water from the barrier islands were beautiful but also treacherous for golfers. Water is in play on 10 holes distributed evenly on the front and back nine but none more treacherous than the signature hole # 16, where I scored a 10 with 2 water balls on my second and third shot off the…

What a horrible experience. Easily could have been the worst golf course I ever played.( I am playing 35 years). And the nerve of charging a non resident $75.00 for playing on a cow pasture. Condition of the course from tee boxes to greens I would describe as brutal. Grass and weeds growing in the traps. Greens chewed up with giant pivots. Who ever the owners are of this dump better get with the times and make some major renovations. What a disgrace

Played 7/17/25. First time there, joining friends who are regulars. I was very impressed with the conditions of this public, municipal owned and operated course. Strongly disagree with recent reviews which had me concerned. Fairways well maintained and in very good condition; of course this “beach” golf course is scrubby off the fairways. Yes the bunkers are not well maintained but that’s mostly based on customer usage and lack of attention. The greens are excellent. Slow as expected for a public course but minimal ball marks, grass in great shape and the putts roll true. Be aware that there’s…

Solid course with cool views. Be sure to bring food and drinks here because they do not have any snacks or drinks available to buy at the clubhouse and on the course. That was the only downside

If you truly enjoy a good round of golf- don’t waste your time-Not a golf course more like an open field of dirt -unless you like playing in ankle deep weeds they call fairways and walking in goose crap every step of the way -book another course or find something else to do - either they don’t care gave up or just don’t know how to maintain a course try Merrick it’s TOH and beautiful

I played this course today 8/5/2025 with 3 friends. It was, by far, the worst excuse for a golf course any of us had ever seen. The clubhouse is a trailer in the parking lot, which gives you an accurate indication of the trashy experience you are about to have. The fairways have random bare patches or bushes or repaired ground just anywhere. Balls are lost in plain sight at any moment. There is no map on the card and some holes you cannot even figure out which direction to tee off into. Greens are disgraceful. The goose shit and live everywhere just add to the trashy experience. I’m a TOH resi…

The course is in terrible condition. Greens are slow and bumpy. Everything is patchy. Most of the front 9 still has sections where the fairway is clearly defined but on the back 9 it looks like a grazing field for cattle. Everything’s the same except the green area. Rough and fairway are just one big area. There’s no area cut short as a fairway. Hit multiple drives right down the middle and has to search for the ball because the “fairway” grass was like the rough. Unbelievable how the course has been let go. Definitely never playing there again

Played 8/18/25 the comments about more sand in the bunkers compared to fairway is a complete over reaction. Could not be better maintained of course but the course is not in as bad of shape as the reviews lead you to believe. The worst part of this course is how unorganized it is and the amenities no food or drinks or water on any hole.
