In summary

Bergen Point Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, with an open layout that many find enjoyable and scoreable. The staff generally receive positive feedback for being helpful and courteous, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, some visitors express concerns about the pace of play, the presence of bugs due to the swampy environment, and occasional issues with staff attitudes. Additionally, the proximity to a sewage treatment plant can result in unpleasant odors, and the lack of on-course water stations is noted by several players.

Grew up playing this course back in the 80’s, back in the days of the $6 Jr rate. A real kick in the chops to pay $80 as a non-resident, Saturday rate. lol Tees, fairways and greens are all in great shape. Even the secondary cuts weren’t bad. Especially for a County course. Especially for Bergen. Don’t dismiss it, most of the rumors aren’t true. We only saw 1 flock of geese on the back & zero goose shit on the fairways or greens. All greens rolled true. We didn’t miss any putts because of the greens. We teed off a little after 9am on a Saturday & finished in 4h40m. Wind was down all day, but…

$44 for twilight price wasn’t bad. Course wasn’t packed so got a lot of holes in. The greens were well maintained and fairways decent. It is an open layout so no worries there. It is a scoreable course wàwa wwtoo with the holes not being very long. I would come back to play if I was in the area.

I play there a lot lately. The course is in good shape, never had any trouble with the staff. They are courteous and have no problem with starting on time. My only beef and why I didn't give 4 stars, is that there is no ranger to move slow players on. And the holes on some of the greens are positioned at difficult downloads. Putting there is tough.

Worst golf experience I have had in my 3 years of playing. Course was backed up with 10 minutes of waiting in between holes. Bergen Point only cares about money and not their patrons. Disgusting behavior.

Pretty swampy course. Lots of bugs in the summer and usually pretty windy. Best time to go is spring and fall. Overall a pretty nice course.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! AWFUL COURSE AND AWFUL STAFF.. Where do I even begin. I’m a tourist from Upstate NY so I expected a really nice course as its location seems pretty good and it’s priced fairly moderate (a little high for my taste, $54 with a cart for twilight is kinda absurd but). Anyway, I will not be returning, I’ll start with the manager and staff. The pro shop guy was disrespectful and rude, I was buying new balls and he basically rushed me and kicked me out before I could make a decision lol. What a dork. Secondly, the manager of the course lied to me over the phone, obviously he’s a ch…

Terrible experience. Showed up 15 minutes early to our tee time which was the last of the night. Upon check in, the staff was extremely rude and disrespectful for not being “more early”. Smug comments like “nice of you to show up” and “someone needs to teach them golf etiquette”. They proceeded to follow us to the second hole and timed us, rudely reprimanding us for taking “more than 13 minutes” even though there was no one behind us. Terrible service, beat up course. Never will be returning. Edit: 85% of this guys response is not true… we had 3 bags between 4 golfers, god forbid someone play…

I love the course, play here most weekends - the tees, fairways and greens are well maintained - and that, my friends is what makes a golf course.
