In summary

Brentwood Country Club is appreciated for its reasonable pricing, friendly staff, and relatively easy course layout, making it a popular choice for golfers seeking a relaxed experience. The course is generally in decent condition, though some visitors have noted issues with maintenance, including patchy fairways and poorly maintained bunkers. While the course's wildlife adds charm, some guests have experienced disruptions from maintenance activities and unfriendly pro shop staff.

One of the better golf value courses around ($35 walking is a great deal!). Not very long (6k yards or so), rather small greens and some holes are pretty narrow but very playable. For the most part the fairways and greens are in good shape. Tee boxes can use a touch up but still fine. If you play early (before 8AM) will usually finish in 4 hours.

I regret to write this because I've enjoyed a few rounds earlier this season here, but I can't begin to explain how displeased I was by the conditions considering the amount I was charged for a round at $65 per person. The tee boxes along with the fairways we're in shambles with a large amount of crabgrass, poor maintenance. The greens had large creators in them in many places and no not divot marks full on 2" deep holes. I would highly advise to avoid this place as they have nerve to charge the rates they charge with the extremely poor conditions of the course is purely criminal and they shou…

It is my go to course. Decent course, reasonable price, pleasant staff. I would have expected the greens and fairways to be in better shape at the beginning of the season.

Played this track two days ago (08/01/2024) and I was pretty happy with a 13 over 85 score on this relatively benign and short (Par 72, 6,173 yards from the tips) Devereux Emmet track (he also designed Garden City CC, a NY top 10 among private tracks). All-in-all, for $27 (3PM true twilight rate: $23 + $4 reservation fee), it was more than worth the 26 mile trip to play one of the oldest tracks on Long Island albeit the difficulty level was down a couple of notches and the course was a bit beat-up with more than several bare spots, dusty cart paths and poorly maintained bunkers c/o Mr. Fox.…

Unfortunately, the season is coming to an end and I just wanted to shout Brentwood out as one of favorite courses. All of the staff from the pro shop to the 19th hole servers are great people. Onto the course, it’s a relatively easy and well maintained place. Wide open side by side fairways so you won’t lose your balls too often unless they go over a fence or deep in the trees. The greens are in great condition. There aren’t any geese to worry about thanks to the foxes that are roaming freely (careful, they’ll steal food out of your cart). This place is rarely packed.. we’re always starting…

I had a genuinely frustrating experience during my round today. My group of three had a 4:10 PM tee time, and we were looking forward to a relaxing round after a long day of work. The front nine went as expected, but things took a turn at the tenth hole. We were suddenly pressured by a grounds crew performing green maintenance. They were closely trailing us in a truck and a tractor, creating a tense atmosphere with their presence and noise. It felt as if we were being rushed off the course, leaving no room for the enjoyment and focus that golf requires. Private conversations were impossible,…

I'm sure this was once a nicely kept course in its day, tee boxes in ok shape, rough cart paths, some dirt patches on the fairways, needs better upkeep. The layout is good, fairly easy to score well. During our round that started at 1130, on the back 9, annoying that sprinklers were running on several greens, including one by clubhouse that could have been shutdown while we putted, instead we had to get soaked. Starter was friendly and helpful us get out after the office messed up our reservation, the person at the desk was not friendly and tried to put it back on us, we had a foursome and he…

The staff in a ProShop are not friendly but the staff in the club house where you get your food/drinks are fantastic. Course is in OK shape, pretty easy, and the families of foxes that live on the course keep all the geese away so there isn’t any bird poop anywhere, and birds constantly trying to steal food out of your bag. It’s a great place to drink with your buddies and still manage a decent scorecard :)

I had my baby shower over the weekend. The event was hosted as a brunch. From the start Jessica was always accessible and handled all my questions in a timely and professional manner, and I am of course a person with many questions, haha. The day of my event Rob made sure everything came together so beautifully, and more importantly took the time to make sure my requests were attended to. Couldn't say anything more than great things about the two, their wait staff and the venue itself which is gorgeous. With COVID around there were many safety concerns but they all did their part to ensure our…

4/27/19 We attended the wedding and reception of our sister. The HORRIBLE CHEF and the untrained staff made for a LATE and messy dinner. In 2019 the chef wasn't able to professionally handled the kitchen; salted salmon, & lots of butter in the vegetables. No vegan or vegetarian option. Why is that? Who trained the chef and was he employed there? Management did NOTHING to appease the horrible service.

I used to go there to golf frequently, but they've just gone downhill. After my last trip, I'm not sure I'll return. They no longer allow walk-ons, meaning you have to make a reservation. Yesterday, despite there being nobody in front of me, I had to make a reservation for 90 minutes later. I was sent out after about an hour with a single, which made me wonder why I couldn't have made the reservation for then in the first place, or how many other openings were looked over. There's also a $4 reservation fee that is now unavoidable. Add to that the recent price increases, and it's 30% more expen…

My wife and I had our baby shower there over the weekend. Rob, the maître'd was great! I was responsible for making the event flow properly at my wife's request and I know I could not have done it without Rob. He made sure I followed and knew my wife's schedule that she had come up with haha and also made sure she had all the food she needed that day. He came through for a husband who is usually not a party planner. Jessica also was awesome. She helped my wife have the day she dreamed of for our baby shower.
