In summary

Jacaranda West Country Club is appreciated for its friendly and attentive staff, as well as its well-maintained and beautiful course layout, which offers a mix of challenging and enjoyable holes. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow greens, a lack of GPS on carts, and a slow pace of play, particularly due to crowded conditions. The club is also described as having limited amenities and high fees, which some feel do not align with the overall experience.

I feel so bad for the members that have to play on those conditions on a daily basis. The greens are painfully slow and grainy. Fairways are so wet you get a mud ball with every shot. Right across the street Pelican Point is in perfect condition. The staff is friendly, but that doesn't make up for horrible playing conditions... UPDATE - I don't know how it's possible but the greens are actually getting worse. It's now on par with Venice East and Lake Venice. Horrible.

Really enjoyable round of golf here! The staff really stood out as polite and trying to make the experience as good as possible. Fun course, a bit challenging from the back tees but very little tree cover so be prepared for the sun. Overall a good experience.

Played there today and their staff, top to bottom, was awesome. Course in great shape even with dry conditions. Highly recommend.

This is a semi- private golf course open to public-no gated HOA , no bundled fees, it is great for casual golfers or snow birds who want flexibility and affordability. They also provide golf lesson.

This is a more current review replacing a previous one posted 4 years ago. Current rating reduced to 3 stars. Course is playable and requires sound strategy to get around. Staff is very good. Greens are very slow. Putts rarely roll out. Conditions overall are showing wear and tear. Frequent deep tine aeration takes the course off line and afterwards, results in a week or more of poor conditions from the sandy dressing. Greens slow to recover, ball covered in sand and lumpy fairways. Practice areas include a nice practice green but most times the teeing area is mats only and/or “irons only.…

So I’m torn, the course was in fair condition. Some of the greens need to bounce back, but thats about it. Members here are kinda stuffy, staff is ok. Cart paths are trash, original for sure. Biggest issue is the cost of renovations makes them stack the course. You could have 3 to 4 groups on one hole, and if any of them are in red beware. Also the members or at least the ones following my group don’t understand “no cart” signs. They drive right up to the green... classy. Don’t think I will play here again. (Edited) So thinking a bit more, the staff was good... some of them. The starter and th…

Course was solid, but the experience was dragged down by overzealous rangers. You’d think they were running Augusta National the way they micromanage pace and “optics.” At $120 a round, it’s frustrating to have a senior volunteer hovering over your group for no real reason. When a group drops nearly $900, a little more respect and a little less policing would go a long way.

We had a great time at Jacaranda West! The staff are all very nice and helpful and the course was in very good condition. The greens were extremely slow, but one of the attendants explained that they'd been recently aerated and then had a ton of rain, so maybe they get a pass on that? Fairways are pretty wide and you shouldn't lose many balls. My only real criticism is that the layout is a little boring. Everything on the front 9 is a dogleg - I played from the blue (4th of 5) tees and didn't hit driver once on the front 9. Then the back 9 is all straight. All the par 3's are the same general…

Played 18 holes today. First time playing the course. I am a year round resident. With tax paid $138. It is not a course that should be charging $138 for a round of golf. No GPS on the golf carts which was disappointing considering what they charge. The course itself was in decent shape. To top it off they charge $10 for a bucket of balls at the driving range!

The course is always in great shape, however now they’re sending groups out on the back nine at 830, while still sending groups off the front. The backup at the turn was 3 groups because of this. 1.5 hrs on the front 9, 2.5 hrs on the back and no Marshall in sight. I get getting more groups out there, but if you’re not going to make sure the pace is kept, all you’re doing is ticking off players that are waiting on every shot. If the course wasn’t as nice it would be less stars.

Really nice course. My only complaint was the absolute worst set of rental clubs ever. When you pay premium price for a nice course you should have better clubs. No driver, no iron longer that a 6. Garbage putter. And clubs were filthy. Do better.
