I can’t believe it took us this long to discover The Stack Restaurant after all our years coming to Mount Snow. After spotting a post about their happy hour on Facebook last weekend, we decided to check it out, and I’m so glad we did. Located less than 10 minutes from Mount Snow and just off the beaten path of the usual spots, this place was a fantastic find. The happy hour food was amazing, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not to mention family friendly with our kids! The wait staff was attentive and genuinely great. My only (minor!) wish? I’d love to see a few drink specials added for t…

Wonderful golf course. They have a very friendly staff. Very welcoming. The greens were perfect and fun.The layout overall is challenging yet forgiving. Plenty of room to spray it around and but danger still lurks with the slopes. Great views as well and just the right mix of elevation. I could play it everyday. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful 2 days of golf at Haystack Golf Course this week. Anyone looking to improve their golf game should look into The Original Golf School clinics held at this course. The course was incredibly maintained with every bunker raked each day. The scenic views were memorizing especially on hole 11. I looking forward to returning to Haystack for future get aways!!!

Great course. Unfortunately, it was raining the entire time and we didn’t get a chance to fully enjoy it.

Excellent and picturesque course in pristine condition. Challenging, but fair. Staff is welcoming and this beautiful course is very enjoyable to play. Clearly the nicest and reasonably priced public course we have played in Vermont. Also love their Sunday night Chinese take out - delicious and welcomed after 18 holes.

Golf course is tough! In remarkable shape, greens especially, considering the drought. Good food and atmosphere for our VT Women's Mid-Amateur championship.

This is a beautiful course and in surprisingly good shape for being inactive for a few years. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is good too. One of my favorite courses to play.

Mountain course with side hill lies and fast, undulating greens. Great conditions. Beautiful views. Can't wait to go back.

Played the course 10/1/25 on a Wednesday. Other courses in the area offer reduced weekday or senior rates, however Haystack charges $79 (tax incl). The tees and fairways are in terrible shape, while greens are great. Our foursome was disappointed in the conditions since we had to pay a higher price than Mt Snow or Stratton for worse conditions.

I watched sadly when one of the best courses in New England became the private Hermitage. Imagine my delight to hear that Bruce Whittier arranged for the Safari Club to play and had booked tee times after so many years that course was unavailable to the public. The course provided opportunities for a variety of shots. I found the holes to be challenging, but fair. The front nine holes are gorgeous, but the back nine are even more so. It is a terrifically designed golf course. I'm looking forward to playing it again as soon as I can. I also have to say that the restaurant is one special place…
