In summary

Coal Creek Golf Course is praised for its scenic views and challenging layout, with many appreciating the well-maintained grounds and friendly staff. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of certain greens and fairways, as well as issues with course management, including strict cart return policies and limited amenities. While the course offers a unique golfing experience, some patrons feel that maintenance and customer service could be improved.

I've been in a bad relationship with this course since the post-flood redesign and I'm now ready to break-up (I know...it took me awhile). I know this redesign initially won some accolades, I get it, coming back from a 500 year flood really is notable. Unfortunately, the long term playability of some the changes, particularly the changes to the greens complexes, really is showing after a decade. I'm going to lay the blame at the feet of Norby Designs, the firm that was hired to handle the design decisions, because what Dick Phelps initially designed and built was magnificent. Why Norby felt th…

The fact this place has a 3.9 is (captain ) insane-o. Well maintained- t-boxes get divots but people forget to bring sand from their carts or if at all walking. Creative t-markings instead of colors . Greens in good shape reasonable cost. Beautiful views of the front range and even the flat irons on the front. I prefer this Course to Boulder — where balls are always landing near you from adjacent fairways. Highly recommend- true gem in the front range. Pro shop is chill (often the place to find the annoyed long term employee with the grumps—take job for granted —not here!) and well stocked. Pe…

Course itself, pretty challenging and well cared for. Greens just punched, but still not bad considering. Fairways good, rough is thick and challenging. The bad review starts here: $85 to come out and be absolutely tormented all day about returning the carts on time. Played a 4.20 total time:pace starting at 2:40 pm for 18 holes with traffic in front and experienced a particular marshal tell us 6 times to bring the carts in by 7:15. We had them in before 7… We then played around and recovered on your fun putt putt course for about 15 minutes. Mind you.. others were at the bar area and still wa…

Not the first time playing here, used to play when Dave baryll was the pro. Since he left this place is not the same. New management seems to want this muni to have a club vibe. No restaurant, no booze, no food, just corn nuts or Gatorade at the clubhouse, dont forget rude employees the pro shop to check us in. You get to pay $80 x4 people to play a course that is in pretty rough shape, you also get heckled by bitter starter with grey hair and a totalitarian attitude (starter steven) lol has signage on the cart to let u know just who he is. A portion of your $80 goes to another grey haired guy…

On a business trip and had some down time this morning. The staff was very friendly and helped get us on the course with rental clubs. The clubs weren't anything great, but they were good enough to enjoy the round. Beautiful scenery on an enjoyable course that is suitable for all skill levels.

I’ve been playing at this golf course for a while, but the experience has seriously deteriorated. Hole 11 is now a complete eyesore due to the pond, which is in a state of decay. The water level is so low that it looks more like a swamp than a pond, and to make matters worse, the smell is unpleasant. It’s clear that maintenance has been neglected, and it’s really ruining the experience of playing here. It’s a shame because this course used to be a highlight of the area, but until the pond is addressed, I can’t recommend playing here.

I don't play golf but I come often to the cafe for breakfast. Attractive women abound. From comments I've heard this golf course is very welcoming of new players and is not full of snobs. The ground are superbly maintained by the city of Louisville Colorado. There are five hotels around the course.

Played 05/02 - Numerous tee boxes with no grass, greens aerated and beat to hell, dirt and dry spots in middle of fairway, around greens and all over the place, cart path only on a 75 degree sunny day and still charge $95..tough to defend this place going forward outside of fun and challenging layout

Made for a terrific stop on our yearly golf tour. First time playing this course and it was a great experience. I always enjoy playing a course with a great view and this one didn't disappoint. Played our round with a member from coal creek, very nice gentleman who added even more enjoyment to the round. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the area

Restaurant closed, no drinks, cart path only. Still charging full price. Cool course but way better options for price point available

I like the course layout but I don't think they're running the place very well these days. Latest annoying thing. I signed up for a taylormade fitting today. They were free the last 2 years when I did them here (like all demo days including others I've done this season at other courses). Pro shop manager said I would have to pay $50 if I didn't buy a club and straight up lied that "this is something the manufacturers demand". The guy at the taylormade booth said that's not true at all. Double checked the email when I signed up and it says nothing about a fee. If you're going to charge, then o…

Honestly, worst experience. We played the back 9 and truly more mosquitos than I’ve ever seen! I got 30 bites and anytime you stopped, they SWARMED you and your golf bag. I walked through towards the end because I couldn’t take it anymore. The course COULD be fun and cool but I won’t be back to find out if it gets better. Also, my fiance ended up getting a moderate case of West Nile Virus and has been sick for ~2 weeks since we golfed here. Go at your own risk. Maybe the mosquitos have died off 🤷‍♀️
