In summary

Grayson Lake State Park is frequently praised for its beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and excellent amenities, including a challenging golf course and well-maintained hiking trails. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake. However, some guests have noted issues with unlevel campsites, limited cell service, and occasional trash around the park.

This state park has a lot of potential, nice shade trees, walking trails, water and electric sites. They also have restrooms, laundry, playgrounds and a golf course next door. However, many of the sites are VERY unlevel, many trailers were parked in the grass and not on the pad provided. There is a lot of trash around the park (our fire pit was full of the last peoples trash, they did clean it up after two night). We walked down to the lake and there was trash everywhere and some of it had been there a long time. The dump station is nice and clean but it has a sharp turn to get out so again pe…

Amazing place, very clean campground, some of the cleanest showers/bathrooms I've ever seen. Camphost Jack was Amazing, always near by and willing to help. We never made it to the beach area, but paddleboarding on the lake was great! We will definitely be back.

We must have gone in the heat of tick season! Loved the scenery, the trails lead to beautiful waterfalls, the park is clean and quiet. The bathrooms were cleaned frequently, the staff hosts were always around and quick to bring firewood or ice. 4 stars due to the poison ivy everywhere, as well as the power on our site missing the 120v outlet, thankfully we had generous neighbors. Would recommend if your looking for a campground in the area.

I'm a repeat visitor to Grayson. Both times traveling on motorcycle. This is a very clean park with very clean bathrooms/showers. There's AC in the bathroom which is definitely a plus. Most recently, Dale was the host and he was kind enough to deliver a couple bundles of wood to our site. If you arrive after the attendant leaves, there's a drop box to pay for camping. There's a very short trail to the lake to cool off. Lots of RVs, but plenty of electric sites that are tucked away. Great park.

This is one of the most beautiful state parks we have ever stayed at. Everything was amazing and very clean. The golf course is absolutely fantastic! We will be back again!

Stayed at site 23. Clean park, ample space, the bathrooms were clean. Two hiking trails accessible from the campground and both of which were great. We brought our kayaks and went to the grotto, although it was dry due to lack of recent rain it was still amazing. My only two complaints, absolutely zero service if you have AT&T, the camp should have some type of wifi available to accommodate for that. The only other issue is that they only have one dump station and had to wait about 40 minutes to exit. Even if you aren’t dumping, it is a single lane one way road out.

Grayson Lake state park is awesome! The lake itself is great plus the campground is really nice too! My wife and I along with friends came twice this year to camp and do some kayaking. If that's what you're into you better get down here - you'll love it! The views of tree topped rock walls that you see while kayaking in the lake are incredible! We did a long float from the Newfoundland Boat ramp down the Little Sandy River into the lake and got out at the Bruin Launch ramp. It's about 11 miles as near as we could tell by measuring it on Google Maps. It took about 5 hours of easy - moderate pad…

This review is for the three waterfalls found on the Lick Falls overlook trail. The trail is a 1 1/2 easy path to the tops of the waterfalls. But you can barely see the main fall, Lick Falls. I would recommend getting a boat and see them from the lake. There is no paths to the base of these falls.

Paved back in sites. Many of them unlevel so come prepared. Lots of locals here camping. Many didn’t use the rv pad , most parked rv’s on grass under shade trees. We were there mainly to golf & the course did not disappoint. Would have liked to boat or kayak while here but were warned car break ins happening at parking areas where you launch and swim while you are out on the water so we didn’t want to take a chance and just went to 3 different areas to look at lake. Our neighbor thought the car break in thieves might have been caught now but she wasn’t sure. Pics of golf course and main lake M…

Beautiful campground, very well maintained. Basketball court, jungle gym, slides, swings. Restrooms were cleaned multiple times a day. While we were out hiking grounds crew blew leaves out of our site. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful hike!! Lick Falls Trail was one of the prettiest hikes I've done in a long time. The terrain was constantly changing from dirt, to tree roots, soft mossy ground, to uneven rock beds. I recommend a good pair of hiking shows to help protect your ankles. There was a few mud patches that will get your feet wet unless you have waterproof shoes. We saw a small amount trickling from the falls but it was still beautiful. When the cliff face became visible from the woods... Wow! The 3.1 mile hike was perfect for getting your heart rate up and the best way to see the lake at such a good…
