In summary

Yatesville Lake Golf Course, known for its stunning scenery and challenging layout, is appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, as well as its friendly staff. The course's dramatic elevation changes and unique design provide a memorable golfing experience, though some visitors find it difficult and recommend bringing extra golf balls. Criticisms include issues with the condition of the bunkers, older golf carts, and negative interactions with a specific staff member, which have affected some guests' experiences.

I have played about 35 different courses over the past 2 years and the course at Yatesville Lake is one of my personal favorites. The staff is friendly and helpful, the pro is friendly if you are respectful and follow the rules, the tee boxes and fairways are always in pretty good shape and the greens are usually fairly slow but very well kept. This course isn’t as “nice” as others in the area, as the bunkers are grown up and the carts are older, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing. The big draws to the yatesville lake course are its beauty and its difficulty. This course has spectacu…

I’ve played well over 100 golf courses in my life in 7 different states, and let me tell you, Yatesville Lake is easily my favorite I’ve ever played. Even though I only got to play here twice during my time in Kentucky, it is a place I will truly never forget, and I genuinely hope to return at some point in the future to play it again. Even if you’re not a great golfer like myself, you will without question enjoy the dramatic and stunning layout and scenery throughout the course. When I was talking to some guys at the course, they told me people come from as far as Canada just to play the cour…

This course looks like it was very nice in the past. The bunkers are grown up now. If you don't have plenty of balls, this course isn't a good idea. The greens and fairways are in very good shape. All rough is very long. At the price point, this is a great option for golf. Beautiful scenery, and the staff was very nice. We'll definitely be back.

This is one of the coolest golf courses I've ever played. The layout and scenery are like nothing I've ever seen before. A hidden gem in Kentucky. I almost don't want to leave a 5-star review because I don't want too many people to find out about it. Views are breath taking. Greens are well maintained. Unbelievable layout. Although very challenging. Bring plenty of extra golf balls. I've travelled the world golfing and this course is at the top for best courses I've played. You must try it out.

I took a group of guys there Saturday 9/21/25, 4 of the guys I talked the course up on, and we got treated BAD by the attendant and come to find out she was the Club Pro/manager there. She acted like we had never played golf there before. Unfortunately I would say they will never go back and for me, it left a VERY BAD taste in my mouth. I probably will never go back either. Spend your $50 somewhere else if you want treated with respect.

Beautiful course. Great shape. Friendly staff. Drastic elevation changes. Very difficult golf course. Trouble everywhere. Bring your A game and a few extre balls.

Visited from New Mexico and was treated like family. For me, it was a very difficult course but the scenery was amazing. Greens and fairways were all well kept. Highly highly recommended.

Incredible and beautiful course (though it is quite difficult). Very reasonably priced. Super friendly staff. Several very well designed holes flourish throughout the landscape.

Course is fun and MOST of the staff is amazing: However, the old lady working in the clubhouse is awful. Had a few simple questions about why licensed drivers younger than 18 couldn’t drive a cart even with someone older than 18 signing for it. I asked one question and the old woman started freaking out and calling me a ma’am even though I am a 19 year old with a freaking mustache and goatee.

Volunteers are great up there old lady at the front desk is awful tho really need to do something about her she is always been a problem couldn’t play because she wouldn’t let us drive a golf cart as a licensed driver have to be 18 then tried to ask if anyone could sign for it over 21 and she then cussed us out and made us leave. She was just absolutely awful really shouldn’t be working somewhere like that with her attitude. She said a guardian has to be there to sign for you.If your not from there or 45 min away why can’t you have someone else sign or call why have them drive from far away to…

Drove an hour to play golf here and they wouldn’t let me drive a cart because i wasn’t 18 even though I am a licensed driver. (Had no problems with this in any of the previous years.) The lady inside the clubhouse was extremely rude but course is fun and all other staff are great.
