In summary

The Golf Club of the Bluegrass is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, enjoyable layout, and friendly staff, with particular commendation for the fairways and greens. Visitors appreciate the overall playing experience, noting the course's suitability for both seasoned and occasional golfers. However, some criticisms include inconsistent customer service, particularly in the clubhouse, and concerns about pricing relative to course conditions. Additionally, the lack of certain amenities like a liquor license and limited food options are mentioned as areas needing improvement.

Great little track up the road from the best courses in Lexington... Worth playing for sure, nothing too special but worth smacking it around.. PLAY IT AT LEAST ONCE... Be sure to walk around all of your putts and honestly chip shots too, tons of grain and greens normally in great shape... Nothing wrong with grain but it makes a big difference on how you'll spin a shot or bounce it in then of course speed and break on all putts, actually in central ky some of the most grain around, its a fun nice little challenge added to golf👍👍

Called to ask about green fees, was told $58 with cart for a Saturday. Asked why it said $40 online and he said he did not know and I asked if he could look at it online and he said no and hung up on me, tried to call back no answer. They are the most rudest and unprofessional people out there. Will never play there again.

I'm puzzled by the management's behavior towards a group of black golfers who have booked multiple tee times over the years, contributing significantly to the course's revenue. Despite their loyalty, the management is now being unaccommodating by not willing to work with them to include an extra player in their booking. It's disappointing to see this attitude towards a group that has consistently supported the business. I prefer to spend my money at places that value my patronage.

I absolutely love this course. I play it whenever I get the chance. The fairways on this course are some of the best you will ever play. The hybrid grass fairways are so thick and plush you never have to roll the ball for a better lie. Water only comes into play on #2, #3 and #8. Great course.

This place is so unbelievably overpriced. The guys in the clubhouse are some of the rudest people I've ever experienced. They get upset when someone comes in cause I guess that means they have to do some work. Maybe mow the fairways and greens every now and then. Good luck getting any advantage or decent lie in the fairway. Greens are unreadable. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else in Lexington/Nicholasville for a much better experience for half the price

Great course for the money. The people running it are very nice and helpful. Greens are in great shape as are most fairways and tee boxes. Wish they would update the clubhouse facilities, but again a great experience. I play there two times a week.

Updated review. The vibe is changing. Was told we could not do 18 holes and it is 8:30 still daylight. Still love this track so disappointed after busy work day can’t play a full 18 when plenty of sunlight is outside. I live all the way out in Hamburg but happily drive to golf club bc I love the layout (fun holes and always in great shape for public course)— simplicity— and most of all staff. John especially is always friendly and I appreciate that because at a golf course it’s all about having a blast. The moment you check in John will get you smiling right before you tee off. Last few times…

I have always heard great things about this course, but it only left me greatly disappointed. As of 8/18/2023 it is in terrible condition. There is more grass growing through the cart paths than the fairways. If you’re playing in the evening they don’t offer a twilight rate and will only let you book 9 holes, which is strictly enforced by their very unpleasant staff. If you’re looking to play golf in the Lexington area then look elsewhere, there are better options available.

The staff was not very friendly. They didn't offer to help us find our way around since we were not familiar with the golf course. I am very experienced golfer however I was not familiar with Keene Trace. It did not leave a good first impression

Decent course, with recently renovated driving range and hitting bays. Course is usually in decent shape. They are doing some work, with a new green in the works on 9, and some earthworks and rerouting around 16 and 17. Still perfectly playable. Where this course really shines is the staff. Jerry and his team are always friendly and helpful. I just wish they had a liquor license so they could sell beer...

Course has held up well this summer wven with multiple long and dry spells. However, there is something very wrong with the club house experience and in particular the bathrooms. For the price you pay, one would expect to be able to go to a clean bathroom. It is cleaner and probably safer to take your own tp and go in the woods. A somewhat remodeled and fresh pro shop would really help the overall experience.
