In summary

Erie Golf Club is appreciated for its historic Tillinghast design, offering a challenging layout with interesting elevation changes and well-maintained greens. Many visitors enjoy the friendly staff and the value for money, especially given its unique architectural heritage. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about course maintenance, slow pace of play, and management interactions, which have affected their overall experience.

This Golden Age golf course was a treat to play. The course is designed by A W Tillinghast who also designed courses at Medina, Bethpage Black, Winged Foot, and Baltasrul as well as many other highly ranked courses. The layout of the course was a magnificent mix of long and short holes, left and right dog legs and risk reward holes. The course is not long at 6250 from the tips, but keep in mind when it was built in 1928 there were no such things as 460cc drivers or Pro V1 golf balls. The greens rolled very well and had some contours to make you think. Only 1 hole had a green that was rough a…

Great layout, challenging hills, good greens….9 holes for now. If this course is brought back to its former 18 hole glory it will be a favorite!

Horrible experience! My friends and I were golfing earlier today at Erie Golf Course for around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Near the end of our session, we were approached by an older man, which we later found out is the owner of the course. Now mind you we wernt doing anything wrong nor misbehaving. The owner approached us to complain very aggressively that we were taking very long with our 9 holes. Personally 2 and a half hours isn’t a very long time for 9 holes especially for newer players. We were not holding anyone up either and the when we thought we were, we let them play through us. The ow…

This used to be such a beautiful course but it is now completely not maintained. I actually thought it was abandoned when I drove past the lower holes. $30 to play 9 holes on a non maintained course where their variety comes from just having 3 different holes on each green. A shame!

Over priced. Golf course was not well maintained and had a cluster of different holes you had to play. Not worth my money nor time. $27 for nine holes is ridiculous. Might as well go to JC Martin where I’d have a better experience.

Excellent muni course. Tillinghast design. You really gotta play this course a few times to learn how to manage it. Give it a shot.

5 stars for Excellent service and food for our tournament. The course has interesting large elavation changes throughout the round. Small greens sloping away from the fairway make challenging approach shots, but they were in good condition. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers are a work in progress, but management was forthcoming and excited about plans for the course in the near future, potential is there! Bring some extra balls, especially if you are unfamiliar with the course. Fun place to play. A walkable course only for the fit and ambitious!

Course was in great shape late Summer 2017. Full service bar on premises and a nice patio out back to enjoy a cold one.

Love this course. Nancy and her staff do an excellent job. Course has many challenging holes, to always keep you thinking. Been a long time member here, and wouldn't think of joining anywhere else. In July I had my 70th birthday party on the patio - food was good, scenery and weather were fantastic, and everyone had a great time.

It's a good course for the price, where some of the holes are tight with others and play can get congested waiting for other people's shots. I the course can be challenging at times and is fun for scrambles and other tournaments. The round today took 4:30 and play was slow but not terribly annoying.
