In summary

Crab Apple Ridge Golf Club, now known as The Ridge, receives high praise for its well-maintained greens, fairways, and overall course condition, with many noting significant improvements under new ownership. The staff is frequently described as friendly and helpful, and the clubhouse and amenities are appreciated by visitors. Some criticisms include the condition of the cart paths, occasional slow pace of play, and higher pricing compared to other local courses.

I had a great playing this course today. Joe make me feel like a was local. The course was wet due to heavy rains the night before (all courses in the area were wet) and for the most part it did change the hitting conditions. The Pro Shop was nice with a good selections of clothes and equipment. The greens were great shape, with very good fairways (I didn't lose many balls, other then poor play on my part). The carts were clean and in good shape (USB charger in cart). Staff and other players were very friendly. I understand this place has new ownership and they are planning to add a short ga…

This is now my favorite public course in all of Erie. If you haven't been to the Ridge since it used to be Crab Apple, you have to try it out! The new owners are great and have really turned this course around. Greens roll true and are very smooth. It's open and forgiving but some holes can be challenging. Major potential to become a private course.

The new owners are clearly putting in the work to get the course into perfect condition. The tee boxes were in great shape (hard to find at nearby courses) and the online booking system is a game changer. The greens are coming in nicely after they were sanded a couple weeks ago. Pleasant course to walk with lots of different challenges. Excited to come back.

I've golfed here several times due to convenience. Course is in good condition and improving yearly. Prices are a little higher than other public courses in the area. The scenery is great. I really wish they would improve the cart paths; they're the worst I've ever been on. Extremely dusty and muddy when it rains.

Played The Ridge yesterday, July 3rd, and had a wonderful experience. The fairways were great and the greens were fast and true. Also, the new carts were great. The new owner is definitely putting the time and money into the course. The staff was exceptional and all said it was a great day.

The Ridge is the best golf course I've played. The staff and owner are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. The course and the people make playing at The Ridge a great experience.

A friend and I played The Ridge yesterday for the first time and it will now be my home course. Everything was fantastic from the moment we drove up until we left was A+++++! The course was in pristine condition. Tee boxes were mowed and mostly flat, fairways were 99.9% plush and the greens were beautiful. The overall looks of the entire facility has the appearance and feel of a resort-style destination course. I can't recommend it enough. Go play it and see for yourself.

Fantastic golf course - we were visiting Erie from MD. Course was in great shape, fast greens, friendly staff and good pace of play. Probably the best deal for 18 with a cart I’ve ever gotten.

Course is total crap. Always flooded!! Cart paths (if you want to even call them that) are in complete shambles with rivers going through them. Unkept roughs. Awful tee boxes. Average at best fairways. Greens are about the only thing that are decent. Completely overpriced sloppy mess of a course. It's either $45 or $48 for 18! Save yourself money and drive a little further south to Venango Valley Inn. Mound grove or fox run are better options as well. Also, if you make a tee time for 1 person, that tee time is dependent on whether or not 3 strangers that you have never met show up. So you can…

Played the front nine at the Ridge yesterday afternoon and I must say, the course is in excellent shape. The fairways are beautiful and the greens roll perfect. The front nine isn’t super long, but it has some challenging hows with a few tighter shots off the tee that make you question pulling the driver from your bag. Each green presented its own challenge as most were multi-tiered with challenging pin placements. Having played many of the public courses throughout Erie County this summer, I believe the Ridge to be the best option in the county.

I grew up playing here. The course recently changed ownership, and the new owners are doing an incredible job turning the place around. I’m not sure why people are giving this an anything remotely close to bad reviews. Yes, it is more expensive than it was, but it is also in way better shape than ever before. New ownership needs to raise prices so they can continue to improve the course. Don’t let the reviews scare you away, it’s a great course, with a fun lay out, good food and really nice staff.
