What People Say

In summary

Cherry Wood Golf Course is appreciated for its affordable rates and scenic setting, making it an appealing option for beginners and those seeking a relaxed, pressure-free round. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing overgrown weeds, indistinguishable fairways, and poorly maintained equipment. While the staff is noted for their friendliness, the overall condition of the facilities and grounds has been a significant point of dissatisfaction for more serious golfers.

This course may have some rough areas but it is very affordable especially if you walk. The scenery is amazing with cart paths that go through woods and past valleys. The rough is very thick but it encourages better play. Hole layout on the front 9 was straightforward and well signed in where to go next. A wonderful experience. I will be back.

Course has great bones and looks like someone really cared about it at one point in time. Also looks like they may have run out of money to finish the project? Not sure what the story is with the place but it has serious potential. It's a shame the place is in total disrepair. Weeds everywhere, six inch rough, lost balls in fairways, smoking cart, cart paths that require an ATV!!! Any serious golfers don't bother. I tried to give it a chance because I don't usually trust reviews but it's all true.

Interesting layout, would be fun if the course was even slightly taken care of. lots of weeds, horrible rough, fairways are like my lawn, weedy and long....and the bug problem, tons of gnats flying everywhere, to the point of infestation, very annoying, everywhere you go, gnats all over you, in your face, on your arms, etc. I had a groupon or group golfer for this place, $14 for 18 holes with cart, and, unfortunately, if they made me that offer again, I would pass. I think I saw the problem with the course condition, on the back 9, there was a mower sunk axle deep in mud....probably the only m…

This is a lovely course for the beginner, who doesn't want pressure and enjoys all the flowers & nature. It is a little rough, but for us beginners that doesn't matter. I like that I wasn't pushed to hurry, and could go out and play right away. The course could use some improvements, but I was still happy with my experience. The greens seemed very nice too.

If you don't have fairways, you can't charge $22. On a typical $20 course the fairways are like the first cut of a nice course. At this place it's all rough. Charging more than $15 for a round is robbery and an affront tovthe game of golf.

Very poor course they dont do any work to course nothing but weeds and carts are in very poor shape are carts broke down halfway around the course no one would answer the phone to bring us new carts if you play there you better have your walking shoes on and the. Bugs and greens are the worst I have ever seen and no way it was worth the 75 dollars I paid for myself an wife & son should be ashamed to charge 25 a piece should be more like 10 a piece

Course was nice 15 years ago it just never panned out. Over run with weeds, broken down equipment everywhere. Old carts. Looks like they're just squeezing out of it what they can.

Manage expectations: If you want cheap golf with no pressure at all, this is gold. However, that means you should expect that there isn’t a lot of maintenance performed. The staff is friendly.

Worst golf course I've ever played at. That's if you can even consider it one. $20 to play was a complete ripoff.

Staff very friendly BUT virtually tee boxes are non existent, greens horrific, filthy golf carts, and the 'clubhouse' is an old trailer with a falling down ceiling, moldy carpet and bug infested restrooms.

Terribly maintained, and wrecked my bumper trying to leave their terribly maintained parking lot. Avoid this place like the plague! If I could give it 0 stars I really would.
