What People Say

In summary

Washington Golf Learning Center is praised for its suitability for beginners, with a short, well-maintained 9-hole course and a driving range that offers both grass and mat options. The facility is appreciated for its affordability and setting, particularly its scenic views. However, some visitors have experienced issues with staff interactions and tee time management, and there are occasional concerns about course conditions and the pace of play.

Its a great golf course for beginners, if you are a better player don’t waste your time. The greens are very firm and quick and the guy at the counter was very nice. There were some tee time issues. Overall not bad.

I have been a newer golfer as of this year. My friend was home for school and we decided to try this course; she has been golfing for a while. There was a stack up of people immediately at the first hole (about 5 carts). We hesitated on hitting right away as we would be hitting up on the group of three in front of us, and possibly injure them as the distance was only about 170. One of your workers, named David, was extremely rude and started explaining we needed to start hitting because we “couldn’t hit to the green.” We had some hits that went towards wooding areas and he started explaining t…

It is a nice beginners course.. problem is.. we had just teed off after waiting for other group to clear, on our second shot and already got told we needed to keep up the pace.. we spent about 70 bucks including a golf glove for my daughter. I feel like it being a learning course, let’s not send out people every 5 minutes. Course has just been aerated as of sept 12th 25. No mention of it. Probably will not return.. I love the metro parks courses.. usually a great time.

Washington Park is a quaint Cleveland Metroparks par 29, 9 hole golf course (most holes are par 3 ostensibly) located in Newburgh Heights and Cleveland. The course is generally well-maintained, though some features do highlight that it is a fairly marginal course. The course is super short and the design of the holes is largely repetitive and thus somewhat boring. Additionally, the tee boxes often have artificial turf instead of real grass. The greens are also almost bald and run really fast. Unfortunately, the greens fees are not super inexpensive either, if they were it'd be a decent deal. T…

The starter is extremely rude and gave us a bunch of attitude for driving our carts to our cars yet he didn’t say not too when we started nor did we see any signs that say not to. Don’t come here with your kids or if you are a new golfer…they will not treat you well. Won’t be coming back nor will I recommend to anyone.

Love the course! 200 yards is the longest hole. There are two par 4's. Great for kids as they are affiliated with First Tee! Nicely kept and great being in a park, next to the steel factories! Our favorite "small" course in the Cleveland area!

Visited the range for the first time today and the older gentleman from the Pro Shop really made me feel welcome and helped me out a lot when he didn’t have to. Definitely left a great impression on me and I’ll be back for sure.

Good course for someone who is trying to get into golf. Most holes are Par 3, gives you a lot of practice with the wedges and shorter irons (higher numbered). I would suggest walking the course over riding.

Always a fun time. It’s a learning course with just 9 holes and 2 par 4s. Great for your beginner or trying to get your game back. Also has a driving range.

Nice driving range and good executive 9 hole course. It also has a nice short game practice area where you can practice chipping, pitching, and sand shots. Great place to take younger kids as well. They also added the ability to pay for the driving range balls with a credit card at the ball dispenser, no need to go into the main building anymore.

Terrible experience. Took my son for Father’s Day. I paid online for 9 holes and a cart. I get to the course and there were no carts left. What’s the point of pre paying if it’s not available for the tee time? I was told I would have to walk with my 7 year old. It was 90 degrees out. The lady behind the counter had no answers and refused to refund me. Terrible experience for myself and my son on Father’s Day. Will never go back.

Course is a lil trashy. Kids just running around and riding on the greens.
