What People Say

In summary

Shawnee Hills Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, scenic layout, and friendly staff, offering both an 18-hole and a 9-hole par 3 course that cater to various skill levels. The driving range and practice facilities are also highlighted as valuable amenities. However, some visitors have experienced issues with the pace of play and occasional staff interactions, which have impacted their overall experience.

GreAt hidden gem. Always well kept and outstanding staff. Driving range and really nice par 3 course in addition to the 18 hole course. Really good value as it’s a metro course.

Easy access at the driving range to get started. First time there...great range to work on your game. Was a relaxed atmosphere. Look forward to playing on the course.

Beautiful, hilly course. We went when it was being aerated, but other than that the course was in great condition. I felt that the 18 hole course had some unique holes, I have not played the par 3 course. The driving range is great and the staff are extremely nice. Like overly nice. I do wish they had some more par 3's and 5's, but the holes were pretty different from each other. Great place to golf if you're on the east side.

Overall I have to give it a 2. Let me give you a look. The course overall very nice, nice greens, nice fairways & a nice course to really get a nice round in. Now here’s where the 2 star comes in. I’ve been there 2 times so far & both times the starter was rude as can be. First time was because we were the last tee time taking carts out. I paid for it & had it booked for 2 weeks, no info that I had a specific time to bring the cart in before I went. He was so rude about me going out an hour and a half before that I just ended up walking. Second time he was rude because we chose not to go with…

Normally I’d give this 5 stars. This season we’ve been golfing here 1-2 times per week and really enjoyed our time here until now. Great course and amenities given the very reasonable prices. But….. this last experience was not good and after I took the time to bring the issues to staff, I was even more irritated by their absolute total indifference. Yes, it’s that time of year the greens are aerated. That’s fine. I understand sanding. But I’m telling you it looked and felt like we were playing on a beach. Totally ridiculous! What made matters worse was the unbelievably slow play. 2 1/2 hours…

Arrr, Shawnee Hills Golf Course be a fine stretch o’ green fit for any sea dog tradin’ his cutlass for a club! The fairways be wide and well-kept, smoother than a calm tide at dawn, and the greens roll true as a trusty compass. Whether ye be playin’ the long course or just takin’ a quick swing on the short side, the challenge be grand and the views be fair. The crew at the clubhouse be friendly, keepin’ a pirate well-stocked with grub and grog ‘twixt rounds. A grand spot to spend a day ashore. Five parrots out of five! 🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜 — From a peg-legged buccaneer who traded the seas for the greens!

I love this place! I’ve only done the driving range so far, but it’s great! The atmosphere is so welcoming. Just today, Steve gave me a golfing lesson when he noticed that I could benefit from some help (I’m a total rookie at golf), and it was great! He gave me great posture and swinging tips that I would’ve never realized to fix on my own. Super positive and helpful guy, as well as the people inside! Whoever was working around 1 pm is on 7/27, y’all were wonderful! I will always recommend this place to everyone!

I played 18 here yesterday with my high school friend. We played here a lot in the 1970s when we were teens. The course is much different now. In the 70’s there were only 9 holes. A second 9 was added snd the original 9 was modified. Only a few of the original holes exist. Some holes were reversed. The original no. 1 hole is now no. 10. The course was in awesome shape. The fairways were in great condition and the greens were quick. My friend dropped a 40 foot putt. The course is challenging and the price was great. It was about 32$ for 18 holes. Unbeatable!! Hey played here again this week.…

Good course with solid layout. The back nine is significantly more interesting than the front. Course staff is courteous. Conditions in spring are very good. Can show some signs of over use by mid summer. Range is passable but definitely has some signs of age. Overall good spot to play for a good price.

The service here has unfortunately fallen off a cliff. They used to be the most accommodating course in town. You could tee off a bit early if you’re self-conscious about playing with strangers. If there’s a lot of people on the first, they’d let you go off the back nine. They’ve thrown away the best thing about them and I’d recommend avoiding if possible.

This Course is well kept, it butts up against the Bedford Reservation Metropark. There are 4-5 challenging holes that will test any skill level. Pace of play is relatively good. Greens are in good condition. There is a par 3 course here which makes it good for newer players and golf instruction.
