Great course in excellent condition! Challenging layout. Great staff! Really good price especially for this premier course. Watch for leagues playing Mon - Thurs evening. Highly recommend you challenge yourself and play soon.

Fairways were great. Last time here was soggy. Good cart paths all around. Some of the old bridges need work. Greens were bumpy.. they said they were just aerated but they probably didn't roll them. Uphill putts were very slow. Good place to go though. Glad I didn't caddy here.

Golfed yesterday, October 10, at Hawthorne Valley Country Club and found it to be one of the worst conditioned golf courses that I have ever played. There appeared to be absolutely no regular maintenance on or around the corse. The greens had many areas that were unplayable because of the bare spots. The rough was extremely long and very to difficult to find a ball. The areas around the greens were almost unplayable because of the grass length. The course is in deplorable condition. The tee boxes are almost barren, the sand traps if that's what you want to call them were rock hard. There was vegetation around some of the greens on the fringe. There were weeds three feet high growing out of the creek. I have never seen a course go down hill as quickly as this one has. It is obvious that the owner isn't spending a dime on upkeep or improvements. Wonder what the lots will cost next year when it becomes a housing development. Save you money and go a few miles down the road and play Gleneagles.

Great Donald Ross layout. a couple of these reviews are way off. I have always been treated great at Hawthorne. The rangers and staff are always courteous. Took my wife on the course for her first time ever, she does not play, had a great lunch. I joined a league there and we are certainly treated extremely well.

Fairways are tight, rough is too high at spots Bring extra balls if you spray them. Greens hold very well. Bar area is clean and selections of beers decent.

Debated between a 3 or 4 star because the entire place needs work. However, kudos to new owners for taking a chance on this old club. The course has great bones and is improving. Wife and I play there.

Had heard that this course was challenging, so wanted to try it. Nice fall day and no one on the course. Trying to instill a love of the game in my boys, so I thought it would be a good opportunity. Wrong choice. Taking our time and talking about shot choices and strategy, we were off pace (2 hr 30), but without anyone else out, didn't think it was a problem, or we'd have played more quickly . Having our wedding here. Great course (both golf and food). Interior could use a remodel. Make sure to check out the overlook for the 9th hole and look for the rabbit.

Beautiful course with great views, mature trees, flowing creeks. This course provides cold water along the course. Friendly staff, great prices, good food. I highly recommend this course!

Iteresting course.....hope you like shot shaping because there isnt a straight shot on this course.....can definitely tell why the members left i wouldnt want to play that course everyday or more than once year for that matter.....in good shape and pretty well maintained just not exactly the most fair course

Challenging layout. It forces you to be methodical with your club and shot selection, which I enjoyed. Greens were tricky. Fairly priced. Will definitely be playing here again.
