In summary

Big Met Golf Course is frequently praised for its excellent maintenance, lush fairways, and well-kept greens, making it a standout public course in the Cleveland area. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, and the course offers good value for money. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and management of tee times, which can lead to congestion, particularly on the front nine.

Big Met is hands down one of the best public courses in the Cleveland area — classic, clean, and always in great shape. The fairways are lush, the greens roll beautifully, and every hole has its own character. You can tell the Metroparks crew puts real care into keeping this course top-tier year-round.

A lengthy golf course in the Cleveland Metro Parks. Brand new cart paths and a well maintained golf course. The fairways are huge and the rough is not too penal. The greens are in great condition with consistent roll.

Excellent cross-country skiing and rentals with like-new equipment, groomed trails, and very friendly and helpful staff. Great winter activity and would highly recommend. Call to confirm if trails open.

Absolute best golf rates around! Big Met is more than just great deals too; the course is always in really great condition and the greens, while often soft and receptive, are always lush and very well kept. Keep in mind this is a true parkland style course, with many doglegs, tight fairway/thick rough, and holes running parallel to one another. I always try to get at least one round in at Big Met whenever I visit the Rocky River area. The service is also great and the staff members are so friendly!

Been 20 years since I’d been and it still looks great! Greens are quick and the course was challenging. Had a great round

Great condition for a muni course. The sand traps are perfect right now. The metroparks are doing a great job. It can be slow. But they are open when it's cold for early and late season golf.

Big met is a good metro park track, but they infrequently send people off the back which results in a crowded front 9. We had 6 GROUPS on 2 holes! I wish I was exaggerating. Something has to change. Spread apart tee times or start sending people off the back.

Big Met is a beautiful scenic golf course. Their greens keeper is one of the best in the area and the staff is friendly and laid back. They have some of the best food options to top it off. However, the pace of play and etiquette is poor at times unless you get off in the first few groups. They also like to add tee times on the back 9 for 9 holes and if you play the front fast you will run into them on the back 9 which again is poor etiquette. But on the bright side it’s under 30$ to play a course that could charge 60-80. Hopefully, as time goes on people will learn about having better etique…

This beautifully maintained public course is one that everyone should play. Fairways were divot free. Teeboxes are kept well, and I didn't need a hammer to get my tee set. The greens were perfectly cut and had no issues. Helpful friendly staff added to my having a good time. Alcohol is available at the clubhouse as well as a cart person. Have you already booked your tee time? What are you waiting for?
