What People Say

In summary

Stonecrest Golf Course is often praised for its friendly staff, reasonable rates, and generally well-maintained greens and fairways, making it a popular choice, especially among seniors. The course's flat layout is appreciated for its playability, and the setting is noted for being easily accessible. However, some visitors have raised concerns about poor drainage, leading to waterlogged areas after rain, and inconsistent customer service experiences, including issues with rates and discounts.

Great course and in good condition and nice staff. If you have 2 days of rain this course doesn't drain well and about 3 or 4 holes will have ponding. But the course is clearly one of the flattest courses in Western PA.. so it is very playable most of the time and it is NOT going out of business given the solid flow of Golfers who keep this course as a very viable Golf venue. Easy to get to off the Beaver Falls exit on the turnpike and the Green fees are very reasonable, especially for Seniors

I play this course multiple times a year. This year the course has been nicer than ever. It has its challenges, but courses that are nice on the eyes tend to have some more challenging holes. The greens were in fantastic shape, and the fairways and roughs seemed to be cut at a good depth. People complain of it being a “swamp” and a “****hole”, but that’s far from the truth. Most courses can get mooshy after a good rain or wet spell. They have new carts, and seem to be doing well with keeping the course maintained on a daily basis. I would highly recommend playing this course.

I heard this course will not be here sometime in the near future. Hate to hear that, it's a nice little track. It's one of western PA's flatter courses. I have played here about 4-5 times after the group I tee off with picked it. Casual and friendly clubhouse with light amenities. I have never used the range, which is on the other side of the road. The greens have always been well-kept and the fairways could use a little work. An easy and short course where a few holes need a well placed shot. Forgiving you in some areas. I saw some other reviews, and yes it has the tendency to retain water af…

First time on a golf course thanks to a few great friends. This is the place to go if you are new and take a bit longer to get through the course the other golfers are understanding and polite. Staff members are extremely helpful and they offer a military discount on weekends after 1pm. Will definitely return.

The lead up to the green/fairway on 7 was so waterlogged that it completely sucked my ball into the earth never to be seen again. After a few minutes gave up and went on with my round. At 10 the starter drove up to my buddy and I and he informs us that we apparently were playing too slow (while also implying we weren't good enough for the course). I'm not a pro nor claim to be but, if a 4 hour round is too slow for that course then don't bother giving them your business, I won't be anymore. Shame that the rest of the course was fine.

The course sadly has gone steadily downhill over the past few years. Because of poor drainage, many areas (including fairways) are waterlogged all the time. I was told one rate over the phone, and the next day when we showed up for our tee time, the rate had changed, and the manager would not honor what I had been told, essentially making me out to be a liar. This used to be a fun, reasonably priced place to play, but now it's devolved into at best a once a year venue. Oh, and they let people tee off the back, so you may well be screwed when you make the turn, too.

Perhaps I played this round on a bad day for the course. But this course was just awful. It must be a former marshland or swamp. I know it has been a wet spring, but this course has zero drainage. Every shot plugged into the turf and the “fairways” were some of the worst I have ever played on. Even the clubhouse has seen better days: the bathrooms were closed and you had to use the “temporary” ones stationed near the pavilion area. It was a nice, flat course and the seniors probably love this course for that alone. However, the price is absurd given the poor quality of the course. With so many…

I would not recommend this course to anyone. Had a friend in from Japan and when he asked about the Military discount, that they advertise on their website, the guy told him they don't offer one and then asked what branch he is serving in. When my friend replied the Navy the guy said " that's not service, I was in the Army" so rather than honoring the discount that is clearly marked on their website (see attached photo) he made fun of the branch of military that he chose. Then we paid 40 dollars to golf 18 holes in a swamp. Most of the bunkers looked more like ponds and were filled with Rocks.…

Solid course!!! Cool staff and we had a real good time!!! Not the best drainage if you go after a bad rain. Course was really wet but still playable and fun!

Just played 3 holes of golf at Stonecrest Golf Course we got rained out after on the 3rd hole and they prorated our return with a rain check for only 15 holes I think that's a bush League move. Just lost 16 golfers little never go back to that place and I recommend you don't go there either

Friendly staff. Great simple course with a small number of trouble areas, little water and sand. Keep it relatively straight and you will score well.
