In summary
Rocky Lakes Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout and scenic setting, offering a variety of tee boxes suitable for different skill levels. The course features well-maintained greens and a pleasant restaurant, which many visitors enjoy. However, frequent criticisms include the overall maintenance of the fairways and tee boxes, with issues such as weeds, uneven surfaces, and poor drainage being highlighted. Some guests also feel the pricing does not align with the course conditions.

Nice smaller course with a couple challenging holes but they have different tee boxes for different skill level players from beginner to advanced.

It’s not a bad little course. Greens are in fairly good condition and roll out well. Fairways and tee boxes need some work. It’s a great little course to practice and improve your game. We have enjoyed our rounds here and will continue to sharpen our game here. Has a great little restaurant to eat and have a beer after your round. It’s not a perfect course by any means but does give you a great place to practice, learn and improve your game.

The greens are well cared for and are the highlight here. Some fairways are all crabgrass, and tee boxes are very rough. It was CPO but no one besides our cart were abiding to the rules of the day, another way to tear up a course is driving through soaked fairways and everyone was.

I’m not gonna blast this Golf Course, because it’s not a Bad course to play. “But” There’s a lot of issues, that need to be Concentrated on. The price is a Little high, for the “Condition” of the Course. Some of the Greens, have areas of Dead Spots, and some have Pure Dirt, no Bermuda, or Bent grass, on them.. The Fairways have a lot of Dead Spots, and a lot of Crab Grass in them. Yes some damage, from Carts driving through, in Wet areas, in some spots. But mostly from the Lack, of Maintenance on the Grass itself. Proper mowing, fertilization, and aeration techniques, weed Control would help a…

I have never played golf here but my father-in-law tells my that the course is great fun and well kept. He and I often eat at the restaurant here which serves excellent food at unbelievably low prices. The servers are great, (and pretty). Good bottled beer selection, beer on tap, great cocktails.

Lots of potential and is fun for playing. Course is in pretty rough shape still playable but rough. When I played last I booked for 18 and told at check in I couldn't play the front because of league, so we only played 9. But when we finished the back the leagues were far gone or finished. I also really did not like or appreciate being charged an additional 12 dollars for my wife to ride with me for 9 holes. It was at that point I knew my future patronage and golf outtings will no longer include Rocky Lakes.

I would give this course a zero stars if I could. I have been to many courses all over the country and this by far is the worst course I’ve ever seen. No maintenance has been done so many weeds in the fairways I’ve never seen fairways have a grass length of over 6 inches. Even if you manage to hit the fairway good luck finding your ball for your next shot. Apparently the mowers blades are so dull they laid the grass over instead of cutting it. I would pay double what this course charges to have a decent golfing experience. I’ve been to this course over the years many times and had a good exper…

I looked at a lot of bad reviews before playing today. I thought it was a really nice layout. Only bad thing was all the ponding from 2 inches of rain overnight. That said, greens rolled really true and smooth. I really enjoyed this course.

Paid for 18 but only played 9 holes at Rocky Lakes golf course today. Greens were OK but the rough is too rough, too tall and WAY too many weeds. Had trouble finding the balls. Went to Bogey’s afterwards, and the beer was cold and food was great.

I'm not going to bash it to hard, but played back 9 tonight. Cost for 9 was $21. Hasn't been mowed in some time and was hard to tell the fairways from the rough. Greens was covered in ant hills and haven't been cleaned off in some time. Major dandelion problems right now.

The course was very playable and the fairways and greens - though not perfect - were in decent enough condition. There were several maintenance staff working around the course during our play, so it looks like they are trying to address concerns from previous reviews. Most tee boxes are a little rough with some obvious weed growth, but since I'm teeing up anyway, it's not an issue except for aesthetics. The young man working the counter was courteous, and I felt the senior rate for 18 w/cart was fair for this venue.

$39 for this course is robbery. This course is a $25 course maximum. I saw the bad reviews, but took the chance. Tee boxes are uneven and full of weeds and long grass, can’t tell the difference between the fairway and the rough, fairways are riddled with weeds, patches of mud, and scalped areas, and the greens have burnt out fringes, are cut unevenly, and left shaggy resulting in ridiculous putting conditions. They had even JUST cut the greens the morning we played (we saw them mowing and there was a worker blowing off the clippings). Can’t imagine how long the greens were before they mowed. L…
