In summary

River Wilderness Country Club receives praise for its friendly staff, enjoyable course layout, and well-equipped golf carts with GPS. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's current condition, citing issues with greens, fairways, and tee boxes, which some feel do not justify the price. The restaurant and bar are highlighted positively, with some considering it a standout in the area.

We played on Wednesday morning and arrived to see the parking lot not very full. The golf carts with GPS, was the best part of the course. The greens had patches of grass which was a challenge to putt. The fairways had bare patches on them. The layout was very fun, but the course was not worth the price.

We had a wedding here on November 22, 2025. I would have to say Nate is awesome! He did a fabulous job and the food was extremely good. The servers were very friendly and attentive. We worked with Donna on organizing the wedding. That is where we would not recommend having a wedding here unless it is very small. She mentioned numerous times how large our event was. We had 114. She did not come through on SO MANY things. Too many to list or address. The day of the wedding we found out Donna told staff the mobile bar was canceled and no one ever said that. The golf cart promised was forgotten. A…

The restaurant and bar at The club at River Wilderness is open to the public and quite frankly the best restaurant in Parrish and surrounding area. It’s a hidden gem for Parrish. I am attaching photos of the menus. The marry me chicken dish was amazing. Love the blackened grouper! The lunch is awesome too, check out pic of “The Club” sandwich with the most amazingly crunchy handmade fries!!! To top it off there’s a Sunday brunch! Parrish peeps look no further.

First, the good. The course design is outstanding, with very memorable holes. When I played it in 2020, I gave it a five-star review (see below). The carts are very nice, including the built-in GPS. The starter was very welcoming and friendly. While the course wasn't in great condition in 2020, it showed promise. Since then, the decline of this facility has been dramatic. You can see the difference in my photos from then & now. It's particularly strange in light of what is a relatively uncompetitive golf environment and the nice neighborhood surrounding the course. Course conditions are dism…

Course was a good value, nice layout. Greens weren’t in very good shape, but not many courses are in this price range. Staff was very friendly and helpful, it was my first time here. They had a putting and chipping green and free range balls to warm up off mats. It was nice not having to pay for balls to warm up before playing. It was busy and slow, which I didn’t expect playing in the middle of summer in the afternoon, but that and the greens were my only complaint, otherwise nice course.

The layout was typical of other Florida courses with perhaps a little more undulation around the greens. The Greens have been punched recently and they are FAST. They probably need a couple more weeks before they grown over again. Several of the greens had bad spots ( this has been a rough summer for greens...nematodes? ) several of the bunkers I ended up in were full of water, drainage really needs to be addressed. Also, one tee box was completely destroyed, felt like we were on a goat ranch. The staff was friendly and Ice and Water was provided at several locations along the course. The driv…

The course is good—perhaps not exceptional, but it’s more than adequate for the average player at this price. The staff is very friendly, and the course is located in a lovely neighborhood. We are happy to play here.

Nice layout. Will be even better once the just seeded tee boxes are back. However, the temporary tee boxes making the Par 5's real easy!

Great course and great staff.....just wish the greens were in a lot better shape! They were playable but some of the pins were located in the worst part....we will play here again when the greens get better!

Real cool golf course. Fairways are in great conditions. The greens need work. Playable but lots of bumps.

The course is in brutal shape. Ended up only playing 9 holes because it was in such bad shape. Greens are terrible. Trying to play courses near me but this course is definitely a one time only.
