In summary

Moccasin Wallow Golf Club receives praise for its well-maintained greens and friendly staff, with some visitors noting improvements in course conditions under new ownership. However, there are concerns about the value for money, with several players mentioning issues such as patchy tee boxes, lack of basic amenities like drinking water on the course, and food safety concerns. While some appreciate the course's layout and hospitality, others feel it is overpriced given the current conditions and amenities.

Played golf today. The course was in better shape the the courses in Sarasota and Bradenton that charge $$ same rate. Greens rolled extremely well. I recommend this course if you want to play for $100. Will return for sure. Rain is on the way and conditions will improve. Staff very friendly.

Idk what the deal is with this place, but with the expansion in the area and the course it’s self, I give this place another year or two at most. My guess is it was bought out by an alcoholic or something and he wanted it to be his hang out place for him and his friends to drink liquor. They spent bunch of money on flashy carts and a nice bar but neglected the actual golf end of the business. $5 for about 10 rang balls. The range is a pond with no distance markers. Also not aloud to bring your own cooler regardless of what’s in it “because they sell it there”. Even though I put my drinks in my…

I've come to Parrish from St. Petersburg to play this golf course since it was Imperial Lakewoods (1990s to 2017). Since new ownership, the course has changed in so many good ways. The greens are awesome and the the tee boxes are much improved. Forward tee (red) areas are a great addition for beginning players! But the improvement in the fairways over the past few years is nothing short of a miracle. They are on par with Mangrove Bay in St. Petersburg. Attention to good golf course management has really paid off. This facility is a hidden gem and likely to become much more popular as the build…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of playing at Moccasin Wallow Golf Club last Friday morning, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! Despite the area having been through two hurricanes, Helene and Milton, the course was in fantastic shape—everything from the fairways to the greens looked pristine. It's clear that the owner and staff have put in tremendous effort to maintain the course, and it really shows. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the entire experience was memorable. Now, for the "golfing" experience... Let’s just say I ended up behind a group of six who had clearly never s…

Paid $80 for a round and left honestly disappointed. To be fair, Florida is currently dealing with drought conditions, so I understand courses may not be in pristine shape. I don't think anyone is expecting tour-level conditions. However, even accounting for drought, the overall conditions were still well below what you’d expect at this price point. Tee boxes were thin and patchy, fairways had large bare areas and weeds, and the course overall felt neglected. At $80, the value simply isn’t there. Beyond the turf conditions, the basic amenities were unacceptable. There was no drinking water a…

I’ve played golf all over for many years so it’s pretty easy to judge What a round should cost for what you see. $80 is highway robbery for this course, For what you get here the round should be about 40 bucks. No GPS on the carts, the clubhouse has almost nothing. They have the bare minimum golf items for sale. We played on a Saturday morning. There was no car girl. The kitchen was not open through a full 18 holes, We were not able to get drinks or food. The tee boxes were pretty bad, The fairways were pretty decent. The best part about the course is the greens. Overall, it’s not a terrible p…

The entire staff, including the owner, is completely rude, and if you ask for anything they huff and puff like it’s such an inconvenience. There’s still hurricane damage, guessing they can’t afford to fix it by the looks of things. Plus, literally the most important part, the course sucks- holes and dead grass, electrical wires coming out of the ground, cut up trees that have been sitting for months. Pathetic. Would give zero stars if I could. I played on 6/20/25, bless your heart owner.

Earlier today my husband and I were looking at a home in the area there was a path behind the development with some ponds and we went for a walk on the path as we were coming back a guy in a golf cart drove up to us and asked where we were headed. We told him that we had a house showing and we were just walking the trail to get a feel for the area. The guy was super rude to us and told us to get off the trail and that we couldn’t be on the golf course. That guy in the wrong profession if he thinks he can speak to people like that. It definitely deters us and possibly others from buying propert…

Great course and it is in great shape. They had just lightly top dressed and verticut the greens, but they still putted great. I heard they have a new superintendent, and it shows. The clubhouse people and workers were really nice and friendly.

Course was in good shape. Greens are fast and smooth. Course has character and is challenging but fair. I would not hesitate to recommend MWG to any level of player.
