What People Say

In summary

Raton Country Club and Golf Course is praised for its beautiful setting, friendly staff, and well-maintained 9-hole course that offers a variety of challenges and scenic views. Many appreciate the opportunity to play 18 holes by using multiple tee boxes and enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the grounds. While the course and facilities generally receive positive feedback, some visitors have noted issues such as outdated amenities, occasional food service concerns, and the need for better management of pace during busy times.

This course is a blast to play, over 100 years old! Plenty of ground game opportunities. Lots of variety. Favorite hole was number three, look at that raised green. Fees are low. Free round with a Raton hotel reciept. Tee markers are painted bricks. Not a single bunker. Deer everywhere. Worth stopping to check out. Lots of fun.

This is an awesome little track on the New Mexico border. It is a 9 hole track that has multiple tee boxes that allow you to play the course twice and still get an 18 hole experience. The course is certainly on the shorter side for the altitude level, but still provides a fun experience for players at all skill level. The pro shop is limited, but the staff is friendly and courteous. The only thing I thought was odd, when I asked about getting a hamburger off the grill, the gentleman told me the health department had shut the kitchen down for a rodent problem, and continued to explain about thi…

Enjoyed the wide open spaces and great New Mexico views. The owners were fantastic, helpful and super friendly. Saw many turkeys on the fairways.

Just passing thru, beautiful 9 holes of challenging golf, homey feel, greeted by deer and turkey's, if you love a challenge and have an appreciation for nature and humbleness this is the course for you! Thank you for the great service!

Great 9 hole golf course. It has great views. Just a great little course. Some holes are very challenging, and some are relatively easy. Perfect balance between the two. The owner is always quick with a good story or joke. We definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants a challenging yet easy golf course.

A true hidden gem in New Mexico golf. This course is well maintained but more importantly it’s extremely beautiful. The par 3 over water was a fun surprise of a hole. Quiet golf course where you are truly seeped in nature. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice 9 hole Muni. Conditions were quite good, though the postage-stamp greens were a bit shaggy. (Possibly to keep them from drying out?) Almost every fairway is sloped, so keep your tee shot on the high side. Don't forget to say hello to the beautiful Jessica!

Food is good though was overcharged and credited for the difference, no big deal. Manager is friendly and they are currently promoting families to go over and kick soccer balls around with the purchase of late lunch or dinner. I think this is awesome to get the kids out in fresh pretty atmosphere and reasonable food pricing. Facility is outdated yet clean. The only thing I need to find out before committing to taking my kids here weekly is that the chemicals they use on the course are safe to get on skin (kids sit in grass, fall on grass, don't want them to put grass in mouth)

Was there for a dinner function, the food was horrible. Salad was nasty with only very little vinegar no oil. The steak was ordered well done and once was cut into it was very rare. Sent it back and came out just about the same. Was thrown in the trash. Pasta was dried out and chicken on the pasta was dried out. Not worth the $68 very disappointing.

Fun course, better know where to hit your drive! Played a tournament, difficult format. I'm sure I'd enjoy playing individual round. Grounds were in good condition.

I came to play the disc golf course, there was a slight rain when I showed up and it stopped and I played the course just after. Nothing was too wet and the course was awesome! Hole 16 plays over the water and is quite difficult, everything else is pretty safe.
