Martinsville Country Club

I played 18 here as a was passing through for work. I've always driven by on my way to Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and finally had some time to play it. With how wet this year has been, I expected the course to be in a little rough shape and sure enough, the fairways has some spots, but compared to our Southwestern Indiana courses, MGC seemed to be in a lot better shape. I am hoping to come back next year to play it in it's full glory. As for the layout of the course, I really clicked it. It had quite a bit of elevation changes, but not too many blind shots. The beautiful tree-lined course is just off the interstate. You might meet Hazard, the cute little dog in the clubhouse. The staff takes pride in their course, which has well-kept fairways and greens. There was a stunning flower patch with monarch butterflies near the cart area. I would definitely consider a membership if I lived nearby.

The course is beautiful. However, the management is not. Specifically talking about the lady in the clubhouse that told me and my buddy that we shouldn't be taking longer than 3 hours to play a round of golf with 2 people. Told us we do not have time to stop and eat at the turn. To keep moving or eat in between shots. Will not be returning here because of her.

Played this stunningly beautiful small-town golf course on Wednesday 21 September 2022 along my route from Washington state to Ohio. Out of the now 210 courses I've played in a little over 3 years, this one was truly special because you won't find many men who are as dedicated to their course as 83 year-old PGA pro and owner Sam Carmichael. I had the pleasure and honor of meeting this fine gentleman who kindly offered me a cart to recon the course the night before I played. Our foursome had a fantastic time at MGC. Beautiful course that is challenging, but not overwhelming, and in great condition for the price. Cocktails are strong and the beer is reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Just played it with 3 friends. We loved the course and the challenging layout. The hospitality by the clubhouse was top notch. Will definitely be playing it again here soon.

This is not worth the money for the shape the course is in right now. My hands shoes clubs towels head covers etc are all dyed green. Fairways play like the rough and greens are extremely slow. It’s simply not being taken care of.

Julie is always great and never disappoints. Greens are great, fairways clear, and front desk is always on it keeping pace of play on course. Great course would definitely recommend!

First timer at this place. Golf course is well maintained and is very pretty. Played the back 9 only, I’m assuming because there was a tournament or school team? Whoever was working the bar/snack shop and pro counter around 4:50 pm 4/16/25 was very nice and helpful. We had ordered a 6 pack cooler of ultra and I assumed common courtesy was to bring them back where you got them once you were finished. I reached the bar/snack shop (6:45ish 4/16/25) and was met by a rude lady (didn’t catch her name) telling me that I can start by throwing out my trash after I had asked what to do with my cooler. I…

Had a tee time for 4PM; showed up and the lady at the front desk informed me they were closed. Very politely asked why they didn't call and let me know because I had driven about an hour to play. She informed me that she didn't have my phone number, how was she supposed to let me know. Walked out of the clubhouse, told my partners that we should head back to the car because it was too wet to play. Guy who works in the clubhouse overheard us and said "go ahead call anywhere else, guarantee you everywhere else is closed." Played yesterday and course was in great condition. Always one of my favorite layouts. Roughs were a bit heavy but you soon learned to adjust. People were friendly with several asking how we enjoyed round. As I have reached retirement age I’ve lost considerable distance but I enjoy the club as much as I did when first played about 35 years ago. Really close to a 5 star rating. Our group plays a different course each week. Best conditions we’ve played this year.
