In summary

Legend Lake Golf Club is appreciated for its interesting and strategic layout, which features elevation changes, water hazards, and mature trees, providing a challenging and scenic golfing experience. The staff is often praised for their friendliness and professionalism, and the course is noted for its potential and character. However, several reviews highlight concerns about course maintenance, including issues with greens, fairways, and overall conditioning, suggesting that improvements are needed to match the course's pricing and potential.

I recently played at Legend Lake and came away pleasantly surprised. This course has a really interesting layout that stands out from many of the more repetitive public courses around Northeast Ohio. It feels secluded and peaceful, with mature trees lining many fairways and enough elevation changes and doglegs to keep things interesting throughout the round. The course definitely makes you think strategically rather than just grip-it-and-rip-it. One of the highlights is the overall design. Several holes are memorable, especially the water features and tighter approach shots that force you to…

Legend Lake Golf Club stands out as a strategically designed Northeast Ohio course that prioritizes thoughtful shot selection over raw power. The routing is varied and engaging, with elevation shifts, water carry decisions, and well-placed hazards that keep every hole active and intentional. Pace of play was steady, and service was professional throughout the round. Conditioning shows some variability but continues to trend in the right direction. Overall, it’s a compelling, character-driven course that rewards disciplined golf and is well worth repeated play 👏🏻

The new superintendent that started late 2023 has done a great job to get the course playing great. There are a few spots on the greens that need help but most of the course is in great shape. Keep up the good work. The bunkers even look great after the hard rain a few days ago and the 90+ temperatures this week. Was a member here back in the 90s when I was a teen. Took me back to my memories. Used to like the lake hole being hole 6 not 15.

Solid course for the price. The holes are challenging, lined with trees and some water...some decent character. Mostly in good shape...there are some dry spots or patches on fairways, but nothing major. Pro shop staff is friendly and helpful. Will play here again.

First, let me tell you, IGNORE any review that puts this place over 3 stars. They have to be friends of the owners or have the lowest standards ever because when I say it is a goat track, I’m not exaggerating. Legend Lake has gone down hill so bad. It’s about time it closes. Paid $32 to play 18 on October 6, 2025 and only played 9 because of the conditions. First, I will say that the staff is really nice from the check in, to the cart girl to the grounds crew. That was the good. However, the tee boxes are loaded with weeds and bare spots. The fairways are very hard and dead in a lot of areas…

With regards to communication for events, it was a struggle to get a phone call or email back to assist with setting up a golf outing. Initially, correspondence was fairly timely, but then that faded quickly when we attempted to lock in our date and had questions: email, text, and calls unreturned. (Very unprofessional)

Over 50 dollars. (How?) No ball washers. Tee boxes a disaster. Huge dirt patches on fairways and greens. No hot food at the turn. No free water fill up at clubhouse. No beverage cart coming around. Staff seemed in a bad mood. Won’t be coming back.

It’s a shame the owner is not putting any money in this course it has deteriorated badly over the last couple years, it will be the last time I will play that course. Hire a superintendent and pay him and give him the proper machines and fertilizer to redeem the course. Bill H

Nice golf outing for a nice cause. First time playing this course and the layout was good. The greens were a bit rough and the ruff was even more so.

Really only worth playing if you don’t mind overpaying and just want to get a round in. Greens are badly diseased and it looks like an uphill battle to amend. An interesting layout but not there right now. Plenty of better conditioned courses in the vicinity.

Really great experience. Fun course and totally enjoyable experience. The staff was outstanding and very proactive and accommodating. The greens were a bit slower than we expected but in excellent shape. It's an entertaining course with some tight spots that makes it challenging, but fair. Loved it here and can't wait to play it again. An interesting side note was that the young staff member that helped process our payment selected "no tip" before we even had a chance to get the question. When we said "why didn't you let us tip?" he said it wasn't necessary. In the era of everyone wanting a t…

Wow ! Worse course ever played ! And was $96 for 2 players. Should be shut down until they can get it maintained. Horrible greens. Cat tails in bunkers. Zero stars !
