Overall its a nice course. Played here for the first time the other day and it has a great layout. Fairways in good shape for this time of year. Greens are lightning fast so stay below the hole! Starter was rude to a buddy and I when we went to tee off asking a ton of questions like we didn't pay when he had just checked out receipts 5 minutes prior. Then again on 10 and came over to us asking if we just started. It's always the grumpy seniors that have nothing better to do other than cause issues. Overall it's worth checking out and playing once you get past the gatekeepers!

This was my fiance and I first time, we went with two other people. We showed up on time and the worker up front was so rude, had a complete attitude for absolutely no reason. This will be the first and last time we ever come to this golf course. We came to have fun and play golf not come first thing in the morning to rudest. No cool :( do better. Hire someone that is pleasant and friendly.

Chardon lakes is a very nice course. Very well maintained. However I didn’t like how they push the pace of play. I’m out playing golf to enjoy the outdoors and relax. Not get pushed by the ranger.

Would put zero stars if it was an option. The amount of disrespect and harassment as a woman playing these greens was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. The older gentleman by the carts to help people check in would not leave us alone and kept saying we didn’t know how to play and it was sad to watch us play on a Saturday because we wanted to take our time and try and teach a friend. Then he made the comment because we didn’t have clubs for a friend and everything was already rented out already that he didn’t understand why we were wasting our money on even playing. When we made the comm…

Entire course is lush and well maintained. However, greens are terribly slow. Some of the slowest I’ve played in a long time. Something about the CLE golf properties like St Dennis and Powderhorn. Extremely slow greens.

Beautiful course and in good condition. Don’t go on the weekend unless you want to be here for 6-7 hours. They book tee times in 8 minute intervals and was often waiting 10-15 minutes to tee off every hole.

Great looking course. Professional and friendly staff. Love the new credit card reader at the driving range - don’t have to stop at the clubhouse first any more for tokens.

Nice layout. The plan of attack on some holes is clear in some cases. But on other holes you better make a plan and then execute or else doubles and triples are possible. Greens lean toward fast and there are some greens where you better be underneath. Traps could use tending to / additional sand.

Had a great time playing Chardon Lakes this morning. Course was in great shape; greens were consistent throughout and rolled well. Staff was very friendly. Absolutely loved the back nine. The three finishing holes were challenging and fun to play. I really enjoyed that I was able to hit every club in my bag at least once. Teed off at 6:40 and done by 10:05 so pace of play was excellent.

I played in early October with a friend. We are both single-digit handicap players, seniors, with over a hundred combined years of experience. The course was in excellent condition. The fairways free of blemish, the greens healthy, a bit fast, and consistent. The layout is mildly challenging, somewhat open, and fair. I suggest you avoid the green-side bunkers. The one I found was quite deep. The wind, even a gentle breeze, is a constant factor. I used my full set of clubs. The staff were friendly and helpful. I first played this course 35 years ago when some of the pine and spruce trees wer…

Played Chardon Lakes for the 1st time today. Course was in really nice condition and love the layout. A great mix of holes. My only complaint is that although the greens were in very nice shape they were quite a bit on the slow side. The starter told us to stay below the hole because the greens were very fast. He was way off on that analysis. Cut and roll the greens and it's a 5 star course. Was worth the hour drive.
