In summary
Kissena Park Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, scenic setting, and challenging layout that tests golfers' skills, particularly with its elevation changes and absence of par 5s. The staff is often praised for their friendliness and accommodating nature, contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors express concerns about the slow pace of play, especially on weekends, and note occasional issues with course management and parking lot security.

Great experience here at Fresh Meadows for me and have returned on other occasions. Played on a Saturday at 9:00 in the morning on August 31, 2024. I found that the flow of the course moved well. It was when we were at par 3 holes that there was a slow down to wait for the group ahead to do the entire hole. 4.5 hours in total for 18 holes. The grass was moist and maintained well on the fairways. The new looking Yamaha golf carts were nice to drive as well. The tee boxes had lots of divots on certain holes. The Putting Greens were nice and slick. However the fringe had a small stray weeds, but…

We had the privilege of hosting our second golf classic in honor of FDNY firefighter John Deery, benefiting The NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation, on Monday, May 19, 2025. For two consecutive years, the exceptional Yvonne, general manager, has gone above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. From the golf carts to the delectable food, her outstanding team provided us with everything we needed and more. The egg sandwiches for breakfast were truly a New York delight, BECOR (if you know you know), while the BBQ lunch, and burgers, and hotdogs were simply exceptional. The golf course i…

Par 3 and par 4 only, easy and fun experience which would've easily been a 5 star experience for today, but it drops to a 1 star Reason: a group behind us kept complaining about us even though we were held back due to the group in front of us taking a long time but since we didn't want to be A-holes and complain about them we got accused. A Caucasian male with glasses was in the group behind, and he said he works there. I guess it was his day off. He gets in our face and ruins our first experience at Kissena course, which, as I said, was a great 5-star experience. They need to be careful of wh…

A beautiful little public NYC course. Each hole is tricky in its own way. No par 5s. Tough greens. Some of the tee boxes are a mess but the rest of the course is really well maintained. Well done.

Course is ok, but in sketchy area. My car got broken into in the parking lot. Apparently not the first time this happened according to the pro shop. Not even a fancy car and didn’t leave any valuables in the car. This happened Friday afternoon with lot full of cars, so really could’ve happened to anyone’s car.

Great, challenging (narrow, and short) course! Public course, yet has a nice charm to it--very reminiscent of Dunwoodie GC (Yonkers, NY). Friendly staff, free parking, clean, and well maintained throughout. A weekend 9AM start usually lasts 4-4.5-hrs.

I don't know what it is but I love this course. Maybe it's because it's the first I ever played. Far from perfect - super slow pace of play on weekend AMs - but an incredibly beautiful setting, and the track has a lot of character and elevation change. Staff are always super nice. No par 5s, this is mainly an iron and wedge course. Greens and tee boxes are in better shape as of October and the Fall scenery is looking great too.

First time playing this course so i went for an early morning 9 hole outing and had great time. They put is on the back 9 and every hole presented a good challenge to different aspects of my game. I love a good challenging course and this one has it, Uphill Par 3, Downhill par 3. Tree lined dogleg R uphill Par 4 sloping from left to Right!!! The Greens were well maintained and most had some challenging hills. This place is great if you like challenging your skill level and want to up your level of play! I would not recommend the back 9 for beginners "Marine Park" would be better suited for you…

Terrible course! The management is horrible has no control of pace. It took 3hours and 20mins to finish front 9. Multiple times we came up to a tee box with two groups in front of us waiting to tee off. The tee boxes and greens are in awful condition. At a price of $77, includes a cart, that’s just way too expensive for this course!!!!!!!!!! Avoid at all costs.

Kissena’s a sneaky tough course. No. 2 requires a great shot uphill to one of several tricky pins. No. 9 requires a 190-yard shot, uphill, to a tiny green. On No. 17, if you land it in the fairway, your ball's going to roll all the way into the right rough and you'll have no shot at the green. Aside from the first hole, pretty much every shot is uphill or downhill. It's a course that rewards a golfer who can hit irons. My tip: Get out and play the back 9 early on a weekend — you’ll breeze through in two hours and have a great time.

Not too bad for the price. Starter was no where to be seen but it was early in the season so maybe they were low staffed. Other then that fun course for beginning golfers, open fairways, good conditions and no par 5s.

Pretty good course. Lots of variations thru out per hole. The course will definitely test your accuracy off the tee box, whether you decide to use your driver, woods, hybrids, any irons or wedges. Putting greens were either extremely slow or fast, so it was hard to gauge a decent stroke, but then, I'm not a consistent player. It was a fun golf outing, so, there in lies the beauty of Kissena Park Golf Course (by the way, keep your eyes open to the wild animals roaming thru the holes).
