In summary

Houston Oaks Golf Course is widely praised for its excellent course conditions, including fast greens and well-maintained fairways, as well as its beautiful setting and challenging yet fair layout. The staff receives high marks for professionalism and friendliness, and amenities such as GPS-equipped carts and quality food are appreciated. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and cart restrictions, and a few have experienced dissatisfaction with customer service and course management.

One of the best condition golf courses I have played in Central Kentucky!! Very fast greens and in excellent condition even after being aerated weeks before!! All of the fairways, greens, and tee boxes were wet and soft. Greens received the ball very well and held or checked up bal depending on amount of spin…very nice!! Nice up to date carts with GPS!! Well worth the money even though somewhat expensive…we will be back again!! Highly recommended and check out their hotdogs…largest hot dog I have ever seen…lol!!

Course in great shape considering the recent rain and heat. Guy in pro shop is top notch. Poured me a transfusion while checking other guest in at the same time. Paired with two other guys and was a great time. One of them had a square Sasquatch driver😂😂

I am from out of state found this course online as being a top rated course and it didn't disappoint at all. Nice enjoyable and playable course. Dont let the wide open look fool you, there is just enough trouble around to make the course a challenge but not too bad that makes you frustrated. Had too much that I didn't get a lot of pictures.

Beautiful course and very well maintained! Plush fairways and quick greens that rolled wonderfully. A challenging course with a bit of water, but a fair and fun course for the average golfer. Super friendly staff and nice facilities. A true bargain for the price! One of the best courses in Fayette County and one of our new favorite courses! A must play!

Disappointed with my experience at Houston Oaks. Scott Beheler is unfriendly, unprofessional, and makes it clear that non-regulars business is not valued. The cart rules and enforcement felt excessive for the cutoff time of 5:00 with carts being restricted to 1mph until you make it back to the clubhouse. Overall, the attitude ruined the experience. I won’t be returning.

This course and its front desk has absolutely no concept of what a tee time actually is. They will load up a course front and the back without any regard to proper golf etiquette. Do not be surprised if you see six golf carts on your next hole. If you decide to go there, I hope you enjoy your six hour round of golf. Good luck ! 🍀

Really nice course. Challenging but fair. Would have been nice to have a ranger to get the group slow playing pick up the pace (almost 5 hours for a round of 18 - lots of waiting). But great course.

I used to play Houston Oaks when the course opened in 96. I walked the course with a carry bag, so I was usually exhausted after I finished 18 holes on a Summer day. The pro that managed the course was very considerate permitting me to walk the layout. I told him I would not slow down the pace of play, and I always allowed riders to play through. The seventh hole is one of the most scenic par 3s I've played in Kentucky. I highly recommend Houston Oaks to any golfer traveling through central Kentucky. After Paris Pike was widened, the drive to the course from Lexington was much safer, and the r…
