Visitors appreciate the campground's cleanliness and variety of sites, as well as the park's scenic beauty and recreational amenities. The park is very well groomed and maintained. The office team is friendly and inviting. The host does a great job letting her presence be known. Tornado weather is scary in general but from a campground it can be a little unnerving as the bathrooms are the storm shelter. On May 16th 2025 we sheltered three times, the bathrooms are centrally located so you can get there fast. We stayed for a good two weeks. The park was quiet in the back near the 80+ spaces. It is centrally located for many things that you can do in the surrounding area.

Great course with a picturesque setting fully immersed in nature. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape especially with it being November! Staff was great as well! Ill definitely be playing here again.

So many coves and waterfalls to check out, the water is absolutely beautiful!! Do not hesitate, book your camping/glamping trip! We can't wait to go back again. We got to see skunks by our campsite, which might sound scary, but they were just minding their own business! Lol so cool to watch them from a distance! Just give it a shot, you and your family will love it!

Nicely maintained campground with all types of sites- some are full hookups. The hosts are super nice. There are two different sections of the same hiking trail:Isabel Point Trail, the shorter of the two ended in a fabulous sunset view of the lake. Had a great time, even extended our stay. Highly recommend.

Golfers paradise, this course is in tip top shape right now. The superintendent knows his business and it shows. The staff and pro shop are courteous and eager to help. I’ve played in a lot of tournaments across the state and I rate this course a well deserved five stars. Better check this one out!

This was a nice state park. However, if you have a big rig, please do not reserve spots around site 91. The sites are decent size, but getting to them and getting out them was terrifying for me. We are 35ft travel trailer, not too small and not too big, but we bottomed out on the hill, and if you see the scrape marks, so does EVERYBODY ELSE. Making the turn was tricky as you can see by the tree, (not made by us), a lot of people hit that too. The hill is about a 30% slope, make sure your truck has the capacity to go back up that hill. These sites only have water and electric with a dump statio…

This small island surrounded by lake Cumberland is beautiful and rich with history of this area long ago. Great place to drive around and enjoy the huge old trees. There's lots of great picnic areas to enjoy, some of them are just a short walk from the car to beautiful secluded picnic tables available to enjoy a meal or Great scenery. Theres also a camp ground on the island for all types of camping with info and staff available to help you. The golf course on the island offers a amazing course with unbelievable views of Lake Cumberland. They also have a great boat launching area with easy acce…

We did not personally camp here, our grandparents hauled their camper and we came down there to visit them. BUT I will say what I do know. It was a quiet place, some of the camping spots were a bit cramped but some are more open and nicer. It's fairly clean, litter on the ground wise. The playground was decent, they have a sand pot for the kids along with swings and a playground, Volleyball net, corn hole boards and picnic benches in that area along with at most personal camping areas I saw.

I play this golf course at least 3 times a year when at my place just outside Burnside. Fairways are mostly Zoysia grass. For over 3 years #18 has had sprinkler repairs but no grass. Several bunkers had no sand, or had gravel instead of sand. This course could be awesome. It makes you use most all of your clubs.🙄 With proper care and fixing the maintenance issues. Green fees were 53.00w/ cart. Condition of course is more similar to a 30.00 course. Kentucky State Parks can do better.

It's about a 20 minute drive around the park with beautiful lights. There were four vendors set up in small sheds. Grinch walked around and Santa was in the concession tent with a long line. It was not worth $25 to see the lights. Most people kept their headlights on even though they were instructed to run parking lights only, which made it hard to appreciate everything. But, without headlights, the road was hard to see in the gaps between the exhibits.
