In summary

Delaware Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout and friendly staff, with some visitors noting the course's ability to handle adverse weather conditions well. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding the condition of the greens and fairways, as well as issues with the pace of play and organization, particularly concerning tee times and ranger interactions. Pricing is also a point of contention, with some feeling it does not match the course's current condition.

Cool course and set up. Three stars for the combo or being $65 for 18 with a cart on a weekday and being in pretty bad shape in a lot of places. Dry, greens eaten up in a lot of places, greens very sandy. Would not play here again.

Terrible experience…. Paid at the pro shop and the guy asked if I wanted a receipt. I asked if I needed one for the starter and he said no so I replied all good. At the first tee box a guy came rushing out and claimed someone didnt pay in my group asking for receipts. I explained I didnt have one but showed the charge on my phone. The guy took my phone out of my hands and said the pro needed to see my phone then drove away with my phone. On hole 3 he caught up to us and returned my phone but said the pro needed to see us at the turn. At the turn the pro matched my card to a receipt they had wi…

Course is in good shape. Good pro shop team. Nice carts. Good food and reasonable prices...not a steal but not gouging. Pace of play could use some help. Its a tight course and not for folks that cant keep it under 90.

Long as the prices dont go back to $80 I will continue to go back. I only play here now when the price calls for it cause no way a public course that has 0 cart paths on the back (connected) should be what it was last year. Staff is awesome except the lady on the patio needs training as she kept saying our cards were not going through when they infact did and got charged 3xs for a beer and dog at the turn. Gonna take 5-8 business days to see that money. Hopefully the rates stay down.

All in all a decent course. Half of it is Donald Ross and the other half seems to have come along at a different time. Proshop: decent selection, well stocked, expected pricing Staff: friendly and courteous Driving range: grass and mats. I didn't use it but it looks to be aqua balls which I hate. Practice area: putting green was nice, large, rolled well, lots of cups, and similar to the greens. Chipping area with a trap but didn't use it. Seemed OK, nothing special but most dont even have one. Course - Design: nothing crazy. Back is tighter than the front or at least it felt that way. Most of…

I LOVE the challenges this course can provide you. I haven't played it more than 10 times, but I wish I could multiply that by the same. The only negative to the round was the staff cleaning up the top-dress from a recent aeration. That accounts for 4/5. The staff at the pro-shop and concession were courteous, and even offered helpful suggestions without a prompt. If you haven't played there then you are absolutely missing out. Book your next round there before your usual go-to.

The staff is super friendly and I am a pain sometimes. Had to go to the clubhouse to ask a lot of questions and they were also ways helpful. Only played 9 holes, but the course seems to be in great shape. It was right after a lot of rain and they did a great job getting us out onto the course. It's pretty tight in some spots and really makes you think about your shots. The range is cool hitting into the water, but I wish there were some bouys showing the distance every 50 yards or so. It's tough to gauge how your distribution is without any landmarks. I used my MLM so it wasn't bad, but it…

Our group had an incredibly disappointing experience this morning. While playing as a foursome, we were approached by the course ranger who rudely told us we were “the slowest golfers he has ever seen.” At that point, we were only 2.5 hours into our round and on hole 11 — well within a reasonable pace of play — with no one waiting behind us. After finishing our round, we went into the clubhouse to calmly express our concerns, only to be met with even more unprofessionalism. The staff member we spoke with said he didn’t care how the ranger treated us, stated he didn’t want our business, and tol…

I haven’t played this course in a few years. I remember the greens and fairways being in great shape. I didn’t hesitate to pay $70 for a twilight round. That said, they must have sadly let this course go down hill. I’ve played on some iconic courses and an avid golfer and no way a course should charge that much money and allow their greens to be that poor. I wish I have to leave this but no other option. Thanks.

First time playing DGC. Enjoyed the layout but the greens need some TLC. Course gets a lot of play and golfers don’t fix there divots. Over all it was an above average experience.

We were a 3some paired with a 4th who is new to the game. We played in 4 hours flat. No one waiting behind us. Yet, the ranger was all over us 3 times. 1st time there, no GPS on carts, didn't know where to go on blind tee shots, random guy added who shot 150, and 4 hours. I'd say that is pretty good. Only positive was the guy in the clubhouse said our pace was fine and would address.

This course sits right next to a heavily trafficked highway, and stray golf balls regularly hit cars. A friend's windshield was shattered, and the golf club refused to take any responsibility. Seems like negligence to me.
