In summary

Bobby Jones Golf Club receives praise for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and enjoyable course layout, with some appreciating the scenic setting and practice facilities. However, there are criticisms regarding the condition of the fairways, outdated amenities, and the overall value for the price, with some visitors finding the course less challenging or interesting than expected. Additionally, issues with pace of play and maintenance of certain areas, such as bunkers and golf carts, are noted by some guests.

Absolutely loved playing at Bobby Jones! The course is in fantastic shape, the layout is fun but still challenging, and the views are beautiful. Staff was friendly, pace of play was solid, and the whole experience just felt really well done. I’ll definitely be back!

Great Range… pretty dry which I loved! Donald Ross design that I knew but I didn’t realize that the score card had a very cool system that you could play the Ross design distance… take a look at that… only thing I HATED is that my/your garmin watch had 6, 9 hole courses pop up on it and the staff did know which was which…

Very disappointing golf experience. Fairways were dry and hard as a rock. Some greens in meh condition (although some greens in very good condition.) Uninteresting layout; not much thinking or strategising required. The rare trees and the water hazards added little beauty or interest to the course. The golf carts were in embarrassingly poor condition (embarrassing because I had out-of-town guests playing with me). The “grill” was more like a snack bar; limited options and slow service. For the fees charged, much more is expected.

This NEW course deserves 5 stars and here's why... Firstly, it's situated in a great location with beautiful trees and wildlife appearing all around the course with a relaxed feel. The practice facilities are brilliantly spacious, with 3 decent short game areas, bunkers, a decent sized putting green and the driving range is on grass with $5 for 25 balls, $10 for 50 or $15 for 75 from the self service machine. All the greens on the course are in excellent shape, the fairways are very good and bunkers are tip top. I would describe the course as a very fun-inviting course with a good challeng…

A boring, overpriced, death march. paid $85 for a late day tee time. Not sure the predictable hole layouts, antique carts, and double wide trailer for a clubhouse justify the expenditure. To be fair, the staff was friendly and I did see an alligator, but that doesn’t really mean this course is challenging, enjoyable, or reasonably priced. I mean, if the carts don’t have range finders, the least you can do is send a cart girl with overpriced drinks. After sitting in our cart for 2 hours and playing 30 minutes of golf, we tapped out at the turn…Disappointing to say the least. Do your research, F…

Extremely frustrated and disappointed with this golf facility and how they handle damage caused by their course. While driving on the street next to the golf course, a golf ball slammed into the hood of my car. I immediately went inside to report it. The manager was visibly overwhelmed and disorganized, but apologized and had me complete an accidental damage report, promising the general manager would contact me. That call never came. When I followed up myself, the general manager, John Sparrow, told me it was somehow my responsibility to track down the golfer who hit my car which is complete…

I am a snow bird from Canada. Before I arrived in Sarasota. I did a bit of research to see where I should play golf here for the next few months. There were some negative reviews here that got me a bit concerned. Nevertheless I thought I try it to make sure. The course not only plays well, conditions are more than satisfactory. Greens are running smooth and fair. But most importantly. The manager John and club pro John were both great gentlemen and take care of the members and players. Lastly, Michael Lana and Jill at the pro shop are all a joy to deal with. Thanks

The design of the course lays out a very good Par 3 HOWEVER, there is almost no maintenance done on the course save to keep the grass cut low; sand traps have weeds, all the water hazards have dried up. The greens are taken care of. Even at $30 I cannot recommend. Sad because at one point it must've been a very good Par 3

Given the drought conditions, the course was in good condition and played well. Greens are quick!Pace of play was fine, 4 hrs tee to parking lot. Rangers were out and about keeping things rolling and the beer cart wasn't hard to find.

Course was in good shape with very quick greens. The bunkers are in good condition. While some holes are interesting, many lack character and I don't feel the course is worth the price. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating.

Are you a serious golfer who knows your handicap and works at your game? This course may not challenge you; but it has excellent practice areas, the service is top notch and the course is in good shape. The pace of play was rough the day I went, but will certainly come back for another round soon. Plus, If you are a Sarasota resident, you can’t beat the discounted rate.

Played this morning and got through the round in a little over 3 hours. Course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were perfect. Cool to see a Donald Ross course brought back to life and in good shape.
