In summary

University Park Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and excellent facilities, including a pro shop and dining options. The staff is generally described as friendly and welcoming, contributing to a positive overall experience. However, some visitors have experienced issues with course management, including overzealous rangers and poor customer service in the pro shop, which affected their enjoyment.

Course and facilities were fantastic! Great fun layout, with some of the best greens I've ever played. Would be 5 stars if it weren't for the over zealous almost stalking ranger we encountered on our 8th hole. There were 4 of us, 90 degree rule was in effect, and our GPS stated we were 7 minutes behind. There was no one within a hole behind us. He threatened to make us drop at the 150 marker on the the hole ahead of us after telling us we were a hole and a half behind. Then proceeded to follow us for an entire hole. We finished 9 in 2:07, with a stop at the drink cart, and the restroom, while…

I recently had the pleasure of visiting University Park Country Club, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The club's facilities are top-notch, with a beautifully maintained golf course that caters to players of all skill levels. The design of the course is both challenging and enjoyable, making for a fantastic golfing experience. I particularly appreciated the lush landscapes and well-manicured greens, which truly enhance the overall ambiance. Beyond golfing, the dining options…

Lovely golf course! We got to go out a little early, even on a Saturday. The greens were nice. The pace was perfect. We never had to wait once to tee off. The facilities, restaurant, & pro shop are all wonderful. All the staff is very kind. Great price for a nice course.

I played there right after a rainstorm and it was cart path only which made it very, very slow. It was reasonable for the front 9, but after 1pm the course was pretty dry and they could have opened it up easily. The rental clubs were garbage with no 6,5,4 irons available. The course was in good condition, the staff definitely could have been more welcoming. Overall the golf was good, the surrounding staff/equipment/facilities not so much. Too pricey for what they offered that day.

Very nice course. Friendly staff. Only negative, I got paired with a member and not very friendly, rude I'd say and could work on etiquette. But can't fault the course for that. In great shape

As a top-producing real estate professional, I could choose to live anywhere — yet I chose University Park Country Club, one of Sarasota’s most prestigious gated communities. This award-winning community is renowned for its lush landscapes, 27 holes of championship golf, 11 Har-Tru tennis courts, pickleball, croquet, state-of-the-art fitness center, and fine dining at The Park Grille & Café. The location is simply unbeatable — just five minutes to UTC Mall, surrounded by 29 restaurants and six grocery stores, offering the best in shopping, dining, and entertainment. It’s also a short drive to…

Made the trip from Ohio down to Florida and was looking for great courses to golf at. Stumbled across this one with great reviews and it surely didn’t disappoint. The only problem I had was getting there because maps took us in the back way which is barcode access only. It made us late but they seem to have that problem a lot because they were understanding and didn’t mind. The course was easily one of, if not the best I’ve ever played at. I played holes 10-27 and everything was immaculate. The greens, the fairways, the layout, the scenery, the cart, the staff, etc. Easy 10/10 for me. The clu…

The pro shop staff were excellent - friendly, helpful, and made check-in smooth. Unfortunately, the starter was nowhere to be found when a foursome jumped ahead of us and teed off at our scheduled time. That lack of coordination really set the tone for the round. And while I appreciate having a ranger on the course, Darryl could use a refresher in customer service. A little courtesy goes a long way when dealing with paying guests. Overall, the course itself and the pro shop experience were solid, but the on-course management needs attention.

Id love to know where anyone is playing that gives this place anything less than 5 stars! Great layout, perfect fairways and smooth greens!

Sarasotas best? Doubtful. Unfortunately whoever greeted us today at the pro shop needs a quick lesson on hospitality and respect. Terrible customer service. Will not be returning
