Many visitors enjoy the course layout, which is not overly challenging but offers a relaxing experience. It’s a good course for the casual golfer. Like one other reviewer said, it’s not full of hooligans or posh. It’s not a hard course minimal sand and water traps. Most holes are mostly straight and minimal hills. Fairways and greens are maintained pretty decently. My only complaint is every time I come here the course is overly crowded and there is always one group holding up several groups behind them. So much so that I skipped ahead because I was so tired of waiting.

I recently played a 9-hole walking round at Black Brook Golf Course in Mentor, Ohio with two others. While the course itself was in decent shape, the experience was ruined by the staff. They scheduled five-somes and four-somes back-to-back and then rushed us the entire time, claiming “members were complaining” and that we needed to pick up the pace — even though the slow play was clearly caused by how they stacked the tee times. The starter, or the guy working the desk in the pro shop, had a terrible attitude from the start. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, he acted annoyed and un…

course is great for the average golfer. some of the greens need some attention. we had our golf league this year but we wont go back. they didn't have record of us signing up, then the tee times kept changing for the first few weeks then on the contract thatI signed we will go to October 15th but they turned us off end of September.

Was some of the worst maintained golf course I've ever played. I have been golfing at this location since I could swing a golf club and am appalled at the lack of effort that is being put into the course. $41 for 18 and a cart, no senior rates on the weekends, and no specials for veterans on memorial day weekend. I will not be returning to this course in the near future until they start realizing that moves like this where they stick it to the buyer will ultimately bring down their business. I say "Good day sir" and good luck with that piece of overgrown land that you call a golf course.

Golf course is in overall good shape. Some tee boxes could use some work. It was nice to see the sand traps well maintained though. Good that the city of Mentor is putting money into the course overall. - range is also a plus for Black Brook A small issue but not sure why none of the sand jugs were filled on the carts. I asked the gentleman inside and he said nobody has asked us that in years , I’m not sure what that means? If half the people used the sand jugs to repair divots , doesn’t that help out the maintenance staff and cut the workload down? Anyways, I would come back to the course, no…

I had some time so I found this on GolfNow, rented some “clubs” (they were a mishmash of brands 😃 ) and had a low stress, relaxing Fall afternoon playing this really nice course! The greens were perfect, the fairways were excellent and the rough, well it was rough. Tee boxes were great, well marked, plenty of portable bathrooms on the course. Playing alone, I was allowed to play through by a senior five some & it made all the difference. It was a chamber of commerce day, sunny, mild, cool breeze and leaves changing colors (being from Texas it was a welcomed reprieve). The staff was friendly, w…

Course was in pretty good shape. I booked on golf now and the proshop gave me a really bad time telling me that I didn’t pay even after I showed them multiple times. Very unprofessional and rude. Even after he realized he was wrong he didn’t apologize and just handed me a key to the golf cart and didn’t say a word.

This has to be the worst-maintained course I’ve ever played. The bunkers looked like they haven’t been maintained in over two years; they were overgrown and had animal poop in them. The fact that I paid $75 for 18 holes with a cart is absolutely ridiculous. Greens and tee boxes were also in very poor condition. For what it is, it’s very overpriced.

Enjoyed the course today ... helped that I had a good round and my boys had some good moments too. Course was well maintained, maybe a couple tee boxes were dried out. The greens were we'll manicured and fairways not cely cut and leaves blown away. It was a beautiful day for golf and we enjoyed the course thoroughly.
