In summary

Winnipaug Country Club receives praise for its friendly and accommodating staff, well-maintained greens, and scenic layout, particularly appreciated by fans of Donald Ross designs. Many visitors enjoy the unique amenities like electric scooters and complimentary items for first-time players. However, some golfers express concerns about the condition of the fairways and tee boxes, with reports of rough patches and a lack of clear signage on the course. Despite these issues, the overall experience is often described as enjoyable, especially for those playing during the off-season.

I visited from out of town. Arrived an hour early to learn that the driving range is closed due to renovation. Would’ve been nice to have a heads up while booking or in an email. The putting green was tiny as well. The starter was nice enough to let us go out early. The layout of the course itself wasn’t bad. But the shape of the track from horrendous. Dirt and sand in tons of places where grass should be. Mats on all of the Par 3s (in the end of May), on the 17th hole, a random car drove up to the left of the tee boxes and just sat there for 15 minutes (I think he was doing maintenance? But…

The greens were in really good shape for being early in the golf season for up north, but the tee boxes and fairways were rough. Not the condition I expected for a Donald Ross course to be in. It does look like some course renovation is being done so hopefully it will soon return to the photos that are on the website for the course. Staff was SUPER friendly and I had a great time being out there!

Was beautiful day in January (45 degrees) and had a pretty good crowd. Pace of play was pretty good and the course was in pretty good condition for January. Was very happy and coming back as much as I can this winter. Keep it up! its so nice to play in winter with such a nice course with great views!

What a great day I had playing this wonderful layout. Excellent people , beautiful design and no complaints at all. I look forward to returning to this course and I will gladly drive the 1 1/2 hrs from my home for the opportunity. Very nice staff on the clubhouse also!

Great layout. In very good shape. Extremely nice greens. Beautiful water holes. The staff Is very nice. Comfy carts. We finally got to ride the electric scooters. Lots of fun. The food cart outside is great. Will definitely play here often.

Just played Winnapaug Country Club yesterday! Tired of the snow out the window? Come on down! The Ocean keeps the snow away, only had rain here the other day. The greens held my shots perfectly, please fix your ball marks as a courtesy to all and the fine work the grounds crew is doing. Yes they are still out there keeping the course in surprisingly good shape for this time of year. No frozen tee boxes so putting a tee in was no problem. but in the future you might need those rubber tees. Staff is great! GPS cart are first class. Get off the couch and Enjoy this Jem!

I haven't played Winnapaug for a few years I used to play there a lot 30 years ago quite a few nice changes like the electric carts with GPS. Fairways are well-groomed and greens are smooth and fast. Impressed overall and coming back soon. Love the bag carry moto bikes.

Golfed around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday. A twosome and finished in 3 hours. Check in staff was pleasant and helpful. This is a nice layout. Greens and fairways are in good shape. Anything past the fairways, however, is in rough shape with little to no grass. Just hard dirt. Keep it in the fairway and you'll be fine

The staff could not have been nicer. My elderly Mother who I brought along to ride in the cart and experience the fresh air was treated with respect no issue not even a rider fee. Had a blast on the course the great salt pond made for a beautiful backdrop on the back nine. Greens were in great shape hole 18 had a fun and challenging green. The staff gave me a free golfball for my first time playing. The owner's daughter gave my Mother and her friend two hats on the house. I will let everyone know how wonderful an experience I had. My Mother who is experiencing dementia has gone through a lot a…

Staff members were so helpful when me and my friend check in for our tee time. We able to ride the bikes for the first time, which was a good experience. Only downside was the course didn't have enough signs or arrows navigating us through our next tee box. Especially, when it's our first time playing on the course. Luckily, we were paired with two people who knew the course. Overall, good course and the greens were deffinitely rolling. Will come back again and maybe will find the tee box with more signs.

Played here on Wednesday, August 21, after not having played this course for several years. First, the greens are absolutely immaculate. The superintendent and his staff should be complemented as they are as good as any greens in the state right now. The tee boxes are all in pretty good shape and the fairways, for the most part are above average. There are a few burned out sections as to be expected in late August but overall the course is in fantastic shape. Everyone from Nico, who checked us in to the nice lady making cheeseburgers were really nice. An unexpected bonus was that we got to use…
