Wood River Golf Course

My 13 year old son and I showed up on a Thursday around noon and were greeted in the store and paid 80 for 2 w cart for 18 holes. Great Pricing and wonderful course. There were cool animals and wildlife all over the course with stone walls, some water, old buildings etc. The 13-17th holes are across the street deep in the woods and extremely fun. My son said it's his favorite course. The restaurant was incredible too. Fish tacos were great. Very impressed. Great place if you want a relaxing golf outing. Very inexpensive and grounds are well kept. We use this as our go-to for last-minute decisions to play as no T times are needed. Also, you can play 11, 13, or 18 holes, with the last 5 holes being the most challenging due to terrain. If you are just starting your golfing career or just want a relaxing day, this is your place. There are no bunkers and only one water obstacle. The staff is always polite and and the food is always delicious if you want to grab a bite after your game.

This place is a lot of fun. Front holes are open and the back are challenging. Can’t beat the prices and the food is delicious.

Love this place! It’s our go-to in the summer especially when the shoreline spots are mobbed. Super reasonable pricing, wonderful staff (Theresa you’re the best!), the owners are super kind and always there. Mediterranean Wrap is our new favorite. The fried eggplant is amazing.

Wonderful hosts of the Hopkinton Historical Association's first annual golf tournament. Friendly, casual vibe,and great chicken parmesan.

Shared a lovely birthday lunch with my brother and family. The food was great. We all had different dishes and we were all pleased. Service was pleasant and attentive. Their water feature is very attractive and fun as the bullfrogs make an occasional appearance. We all look forward to our next visit.

Bartender Pam was amazing very friendly!! Food came out quick. Portions were huge, definitely enough for a 2nd meal. Very reasonable prices.

Loved spending the last afternoon/ evening here with my good friend. First let me say the golf course is in the best shape of had ever been. Not to mention the cost, only $17 for 11 holes. I know, why 11 holes? Well the main part of the course is located on one side of the road and the rest on the other. Plus unless you play speed golf, tough to get more than 11 in after 6pm. Anyway, they have created a great outdoor dining area complete with a beautiful pond and waterfall. The food has been outstanding the past couple of years. I love this place. Pace of play always seems to be reasonable. The conditions are more than adequate for the price. Pretty gettable layout, but some unexpected challenges can bite you (looking at you, #7 and #8). The rock-hard greens in the summer are venomous for those of us who like to play airborne golf. Back "5" holes across the road are insanity. Local knowledge required. NO TEE TIMES. Always open. Ol' reliable.

I moved away five years ago so I have missed the Thompsons and Wood River. On my last and I mean Last trip to RI I was pleased to see they still cater to their guests and offer great food at a good price. The dinning room is mostly in the bar but the outside patio is beautiful. NOTE. Move the smokers far far away

This is currently one of the very best “secret” restaurants in the South County area and definitely a treasure for those who live in the nearby area. We have eaten both in the club and multiple take-outs as recent as last night…our response is OMG, this is memorable cuisine at a top level! THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC! I plan to give my wife the best birthday dinner possible, and this is my number one choice. While they’re currently able to only to serve the dinner menu Wednesday to Friday, apparently due to unavailability of hiring new staff members. We urge those seeking jobs to join the team. This…
