This course definitely isn’t the easiest access for where I live, but it’s still my favorite course in the area. Challenging layout, but the maintenance is outstanding. Very knowledgable and friendly staff, great practice facilities, and nice carts as well. Also, one of the less crowded courses in the area during the week. I do venture out to other courses for different looks, but The Island is still my favorite. You won’t be disappointed!

The staff in the golf shop were very helpful and courteous. My three grandsons and I got off to a good start after meeting the very nice starter. The rain held off for the first four holes and then it got harder and we seeked shelter under the covered area where the tournaments are hosted. We had lunch at the Bistro Grill and restaurant while waiting for the rain to lighten up. The staff there was also very courteous and the food was good. The rain had set in for the day and the pro shop personnel gave us a rain check. We will be back.

Updated Played 12/27/22. Course was in good shape for winter, greens were good, speed medium quick (a few needed to have some debris blown off). Enjoyed it. Glad to see it back in good condition. March 2023. Green's in pretty good shape, course is firm and fast.

First time playing in years and definitely enjoyed the layout. The greens were a bit bumpy but it was twilight so maybe better earlier. I can definitely appreciate the work put into the course under current management.

The layout is nice. Greens were about 2 - 2.5 weeks off aeration and were still quite bumpy. Not worth $55 plus tax for 2:30pm when the ball goes airborne each time from 4 ft away. Nobody at check in mentioned aerified greens. First and probably last time here.

This is a good gold course that has fallen off as of late. The layout is nice, it's got some tough holes, a lot of runoffs into water, and the risk reward is definitely there for better players. However... over the last 3 or so years the conditions have degraded considerably. A few years ago it was my favorite course in the area. I don't mind driving a bit farther to get great greens that were smooth and fast. But when I bbn played there recently, the greens were awful. Bumpy, patchy, no telling where the ball is going after u hit it. The bunkers are atrocious, no prep at all. There were weeds…

It's not a terrible course, has some areas that need tending to. I just can't justify paying $60 to play there though. Beaver Creek is actually in better condition these days. The Island should be no more than $40/round. That would be fair.
