I play SM pretty often. It's a nice course, but it gets very busy on the weekends. If you can get a week day tee time, it's less crowded. The staff here are friendly. There's a driving range, short-game practice area, and two practice putting greens. In general, it caters to more experienced golfers, so there's fewer shenanigans going on, like the group behind hitting into you. Overall, a fun experience on a track that's challenging, but not too frustrating.

Great public courses with beautiful homes surrounding. Friendly and flexible pro shop.

It was an ok course. There were a good bit of ruts done by the lawn crew throughout the course. Others were blamed for it by the guy who is over the course. He stated they have someone who is going to fix it as soon as we told him we did not do it, as it was there before as we arrived with it there. The grass was growing on it and it looked old. If it wasn't for this person trying to blame us for something we did not do, it wouldn't have been as bad. The course cart road was good and decent. To me a mediocre course. Not the quality of what I normally see. They did have some geese out there wit…

Play here all the time. Fun Robert Trent Jones layout. Course is typically in great shape.

This is a great course with a challenging layout. The greens were a bit slow but the putts rolled pretty true. Just getting through Baton Rouge coming from Lafayette is the only downside but worth the drive!

One of my favorite courses but it’s needing some work. The greens are in bad shape with tons of poana grass. A couple of tee boxes with very little grass at all. Scenery is amazing. Saw a gator yesterday. Pretty cool.

My home course to play. Great layout and almost always in great shape. Just added some mats to the driving range when it is wet. Good practice area

Well-kept course, great fairways and rough. Though the greens were punched, they made up for it by giving us the twilight rate. Solid people running this place.

Beautiful course and decent service. Not terribly busy on weekdays, but there are some cons: tee boxes are in rough condition and no beverage/snack cart.
