In summary

Sun Valley Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic views, fairway conditions, and friendly staff, with some visitors noting recent improvements to cart paths and water features. However, many reviewers express dissatisfaction with the condition of the greens and overall maintenance, citing issues such as overgrown landscaping and inconsistent policies regarding golf cart rentals. While the course has potential and offers a challenging layout, several guests feel that the pricing does not match the current quality of the facilities.

Course is not well maintained, crab grass everywhere and the overall landscaping overgrown and messy. Some holes you couldn’t even tell it was supposed to be a green. With the price being the same as some of the nice courses, we will not be back any time soon.

This golf course used to a great place to talk to your neighbors, but I’ve have had multiple complaints from friends that say that they no longer golf here since management has changed. I used to bike here for years as well, but I’ve been told since that I can no longer bike there. Perhaps it’s because I’m not paying. I did it on non busy days I should mention, and it’s public. Can I no longer walk there as well? I see people fishing too, but they don’t get told to go away. Multiple employees have told me that I wasn’t a nuisance, since I actually picked up trash from fellow golfers that could…

Okay, even though YES the greens ARE in rough shape... the course itself is beautiful and fairways are nice. You can tell they put a lot of money into it this summer; repaved cart-paths, re-done ponds and water features, newer carts too. I ESPECIALLY appreciated that they ACTUALLY had a marshal on the course directing and managing the flow and pace of play. It was my first time here, and the marshal asked if I wanted to play the back 9, since the front was backing up with foursomes; he gave me fair warning that the back 9 was a little tighter than the front, but I enjoyed the challenge and act…

Sun Valley is a nice course with a lot of potential. I played after several days of rain, making conditions less than ideal. Greens were in very good condition, rolling slow (weather related). Mushy fairways..weather. Long rough..weather. Traps like ponds.. yeah, weather. Front 9 is straight forward and a great warm up for the back 9. The back has creek features & water on 7 holes! It's no longer driver at the tee; you'll need to think your second shot before taking your first. It's an enjoyable challenge and change up from the mundane. Greens are improved since last visit here in '23. Cart…

The course layout and scenic views are phenomenal at this course. The fairways are in great shape . If this place can figure out its greens it would be a 5 star. so I hope they can figure those out bc the course has a lot of potential to be the best metro Louisville course. But currently greens are just subpar .

Called golf course a week in advance confirming that they rented golf carts to minors (my friends and I are all 17 with valid drivers licenses) and they said they could absolutely rent golf carts with a valid liscence. Then we drove 45 minutes out there only to hear that we wouldn’t be able to get golf carts because we were minors. And after making us late for our tee time with this lengthy conversation they said we were late for our tee time and would have to wait behind 2 other groups to get our tee time. We left and were very unhappy with our experience at Sun Valley Golf Course. Never comi…

Golf course doesn’t have a blade of live grass, fairways are all entirely dead, the bunkers are practically concrete, the tee boxes are full of weeds, craters, and slopes. It’s like they took a construction site and decided to put some flags in it. You can play way nicer courses in the area for the same amount or even less. Would not recommend and will not play again.

I wasn't actually on the golf course I was at their community center getting my taxes done. But this is always a nice cozy place to visit. The golf course looks pretty Good from what I can tell. They seem to always be busy with people on golf carts playing golf there. Lots of things to do there for the whole family. There's a golf course and a tennis court lots of things to do with your kids. And there's always something going on with the community center

I was disappointed that playing 9 holes with a cart at 6:00pm on the weekday was $30!! I have played there many times and tried to support them. Now I do see they are trying to make good improvements there this year but for the price I was charged today, it was not worth the value of that course. It was much cheaper earlier this year which was puzzling. The greens were not in great shape and the rest were in fair shape. Unfortunately I will probably start playing elsewhere unless they drop the prices to reflect the condition and the level of the course, which is a shame be ause I live near the…

Not worth the money. You’re paying country club prices for the greens to be in horrible condition that needs desperate work. It definitely has potential to be a great course
