In summary

Southwind Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic, well-maintained layout with challenging holes and friendly staff. Many visitors commend the course's affordability, the quality of the greens, and the excellent food at the on-site restaurant. However, some guests have noted issues with fairway maintenance, slow pace of play, and occasional unwelcoming staff interactions.

Fun track. Tons of elevation and interesting holes. Great greens and conditions for the price

We really liked this place. It's a pretty, well-cared for course. The super clean porta-potties at a few locations were a really nice bonus. The restaurant is AMAZING (call ahead, from the sign on the 8th hole!).

Played in a golf scramble here...not a bad little course in a small town. The fairways and tee boxes were in horrible shape and the greens have bare spots and moss in them. For $25 on the weekend when you don't have time to go somewhere else or to play it a scramble it is fine...but I wouldn't take clients or anything like that here. Pretty short course but can be challenging from the back tees and with some lies you can get....be ready to look for balls as well. We hit balls in the fairways and couldn't find them for the weeds and a lot of the fairways are sloped and runaway. Not terrible...j…

It was my first time there. The staff there was amazing and they even had a person on a cart driving around ever so often asking if we wanted anything to drink. Greens were well maintained but the only thing I wasnt a big fan of was the fairways. They were a little too long for my liking, was hard to differentiate the first and second cut from the fairway. But that's just me being picky. Had a good time and that's all that matters. Will definitely be back again.

June 29/2025 paid for 18 holes with me and a friend. You could see rain miles off in the distance not on the golf course at all. Got to around the turn after playing 9 holes the staff there told us to turn the cart in due to weather. We did so thinking everyone must quit playing maybe to lightning in the area. When we loaded the truck up there was other golfers on hole 1 teeing off and once we left driving by multiple people still on the front nine playing. When we turned the cart in after realizing people were still teeing off we asked for a refund for playing only 9 holes when we paid for 1…

Staff was Very unwelcoming to beginners, especially the lady at the front desk and the man in talking to people on golf carts. The course itself was fine and gorgeous, but there was no need to be rude when we sat in our golf carts. We were pressured into rushing because the golf cart guy said we were going to be ridiculed, etc because we were playing slow, only had one set of clubs, etc. yes, we did only have one set of clubs (my fiancés) who was showing his friend how to play. We ended up letting two groups pass us without issue because they were playing faster. We also STILL had to wait beca…
