In summary

Somers Pointe Golf Club receives mixed feedback from visitors. Many appreciate the challenging layout and well-maintained greens, as well as the friendly and professional staff. However, some golfers find the course design overly difficult with tight fairways and blind spots, and there are concerns about the overall maintenance of the grounds and amenities.

A golf course designed to use the spare land between 90s condo communities. Without a shadow of a doubt, this was one of the most poorly designed courses I've ever played. I won't be able to fit the full list here, but just imagine tee shots that must land within a 5 yard area or else they'll disappear into the woods. Double dog leg par 5's. Blind landing areas with fairways that kick everything into oblivion. This course doesn't just punish bad shots, it punishes even the best of shots. The only thing this course was missing was a windmill and laughing clown. It's seriously not enjoyable, a…

First time, I was really looking forward to playing here and became disappointed at the overall design and layout of the course. Way too many hills and blindspots for the average golfer. In addition every green was wavy and situated like a dome, easy to roll off. Fairways are tight and wooded all around. Get ready to lose balls. Mostly dirt and rocky cart paths with poor signage for holes and no water or cart girl while playing. There was nobody on the course which said something about the place. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and the restaurant/lounge had good food and also was nice…

What an interesting course. I played here for the first time on a very early Sunday morning and what a nice surprise! One of the best value for money in the area. The layout is varied with a lot of elevation, doglegs to the right and left, very decent fairways and very beautiful greens that are fast and a bit devilish. I will definitely be back!

We had a very disappointing experience at this course unfortunately. The starter and staff were excellent and very friendly but the course itself left a lot to be desired. It was our first time playing this course and was unfamiliar with the layout. There was no course map showing the holes and for the price we paid, I would have hoped for a GPS cart or at the very least, something on the scorecard showing the hole layouts. It seemed like every hole was a sharp dogleg that had very little aesthetics to it. Hit a drive 180 to 200 yards down hill and now you’re left with who knows what going b…

Somers National Golf Club is an absolute gem. The course is beautifully maintained, offering a great mix of challenging holes and scenic views. It’s clear that the staff takes pride in the grounds—everything from the fairways to the greens is in excellent condition. The layout of the course is both fun and strategic, with elevation changes and well-placed hazards that keep you thinking throughout the round. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just out for a casual game, there’s something here for everyone. The clubhouse and facilities are also top-notch. The staff is friendly, professional, and…

I played Somers National for the first time today and absolutely loved it! I had heard so many mixed reviews about the place in the past. The course is incredibly challenging but rewards good shotmaking and strategy. Almost every hole is unique and the course is picturesque. The greens are in great shape. We were three first timers and were paired w James, a regular, who made the experience great! Will be back soon!

The only good part of my experience here was joking with friends after about how bad it was. There were countless issues: 1. The course is poorly maintained with mushrooms growing all over the place. The cart paths are basically nonexistent and turn into rocky dirt roads half the time. 2. The staff were incredibly rude. Nobody smiled or waved. The group behind us was playing fast but we were stuck behind the group in front. The ranger yelled us multiple times even though there was nothing we could do. 3. There is a lack of signs everywhere. Once you pick up the carts there are no signs to get…

The course doesn’t have sufficient water to maintain fairways and tee boxes, both are dry and very patchy. Poorly maintained. Greens were nice though. Price of the golf course is not on par with the quality of the course.

Terrible conditions for 90$ per person, especially considering all the rain we have had….. Ive been to six different courses in the past two weeks within a 30mile radius (all public ,all in NY and all cheaper than 90$) and even cheap county courses are in MUCH better shape. You guys need to hire a new groundskeeper and maintenance crew. First and last time going.

I mean there’s nothing like starting your day at a brand new course and having the entire staff just be pretty obnoxious. Well, the course just really isn’t a full course. The layout is pretty horrid, unless you hit a draw like Justin Thomas for 200+ yards on about 8 or 9 holes… Super hard to layup and have a ball sit in the fairways as they’re all burnt to a crisp, hard as concrete and poorly kept. And for some people who enjoy hitting driver - it’s nearly impossible unless you’re an expert ball striker/shaper. Along with that, the tee boxes are a complete disaster. Craters, holes, hitting o…

The greens are in excellent condition, soft and roll well. The fairways in general are tight making this a challenging coarse. You have to think and play each shot making the track interesting. A real thinking man’s coarse. Loved the staff and food, great place to bring a few foursomes and have an event.
