In summary

Saxon Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability, well-maintained greens, and scenic layout featuring a flat course with minimal hazards, primarily trees. The staff is generally regarded as friendly, although there are mixed opinions about the conduct of specific personnel. Common criticisms include issues with slow pace of play, overcrowding, and occasional mismanagement of tee times, which some find detracts from the overall experience.

Played again in early October. Leaves had not fallen yet. So course was clear and much easier to find your ball. Greens were in very good shape. Fairways were a bit patchy, but more than playable. Holes 9 and 18 are challenging holes with water in play on your approach shots. There was an automated grass cutter on the fairway of 18. Service here is always friendly and appreciated. Green fee was cheap on the Tee Time pass at just $20 for 18 holes. The course has a lot, and I mean a lot of leafy trees. They are on the perimeter of wide fairways on the front 9, but the back 9 is much tighter…

No sand traps, small greens, flat and slow play. If you are into that it’s fine, but I played it once and never again. I prefer a real course that has bunkers (fairway and green-side), has some good definition between fairway and rough, has descent size greens and that you can play in under 4.5 hours.

Really beautiful course! Mostly flat, very few hills and if any its very gradually sloped. Not a lot of hazards also. Mostly trees, and 2 holes have water hazard. Wonderful tee boxes, and fairways. Most of the greens are in great condition too. There was one or two where the green had some brown to it, and was either in a bad shady spot, or was over watered. But still wasn't a bad green. Only thing I would nit-pick about are the carts. The carts work fine, they do their job! But they are a little dated. The cup holders are small and don't accommodate bigger bottles of sports drink. And there i…

This was my first experience at this golf course and let me tell you. I will never go back. The ranger Pete was watching my group like a hawk and stalking us during each hole. He came up to us and told us we needed to go play slow somewhere else. This was super uncalled for and unprofessional. This golf course needs to reconsider who they have working their golf course. He was super rude. Maybe he needs to consider retirement. We were just a family trying to have a fun Saturday playing golf. Do not go play here.

Absolutely unacceptable behavior from the ranger named Pete. He was rude, creepy, and completely unprofessional. He followed a woman in our group, watched her while she was bending over, and even lingered by the porta potty while she was inside — completely inappropriate and unsettling. To make matters worse, he told our group of first-time golfers, “If you want to play slow, go play slow somewhere else.” That kind of attitude and behavior has no place at any golf course. This experience ruined what should have been a fun day. We will never return, and management should seriously reconsider…

Enjoyed a mid-morning tee time that started an enjoyable round with some friends. Course was in great shape even after all the rain we've had. Probably one of the flattest courses in Western PA which helps make an enjoyable round of golf. Forgiving for most tee shots so you should be able to hit the green in regulation. Didn't like the aprons in front of the greens though, high grass. No bump and runs, oh well. I'll definitely be back to play again.

I was there today with a friend and as we teed off and had to wait for a group in front of us for 10 minutes we were told by the ranger that we were going to slow although the group in front of us was making us wait. He had attitude and told us to move to the east course even though we just teed off and there was no way we were holding up the pace of play. I believe it was because we were two women. I have never felt so embarrassed to be on a golf course.

I had a pretty disappointing experience at this golf course recently. We planned to play early at 6:30 am on Customer Appreciation Day, thinking we’d finish well before a scheduled outing at 9 am. In fact, we’ve played the east course on the day of an outing before without any trouble. But this time, we were told we couldn’t tee off, and it felt really unfair since we would have been done by 8:15. The staff member we spoke with was not helpful at all and came off as a real jerk about it. It’s a shame because I used to enjoy coming here, but this experience has definitely left a sour taste. Not…

Best course in Western PA. The greens are phenomenal all year round. The grounds in general are so meticulously maintained. The Clubhouse staff are welcoming and customer service oriented. The rangers and starters are wonderful to deal with. I've seen a few negative reviews regarding Mr Pete. I must rebut those. Pete is always a positive and polite person whether he greets you at the Start of your round or meets you on the course to simply say hello or ask how the round is going. It always amazes me how people are so eager to make negative, false reviews but no one ever takes the time to make a…

Booked a tee time for 1232. Got to the first tee box at 12:20 and there were about 3 groups of 4 waiting to tee off. Asked the ranger if they were allowing walk in’s because it seemed like a ton of people for a 10 minute slot. He said no all those people were reserved tee times. Ok fine, went back to the clubhouse to request a refund because we saw where this was headed…a 6 hour round of mostly waiting. Heard the cashier tell one of the other players, “sorry it’s busy today we had a bunch of walkins show up”. Hahaha ok, so there is the truth. Seriously mismanaged tee times and scheduling. $98…
